When we got back home, Uncle Chuck gave me a bath despite my protests. When I got out I got a good look at myself. I was cobalt blue and had peach skin on my arms and stomach. Uncle Chuck gave me new shoes and gloves as well. The shoes were red with a white stripe, and the gloves were pure white.
"You look way past cool, nephew." complimented Uncle Chuck. I chuckled in response. "Thanks Uncle Chuck." I replied. "Now for names," said Uncle Chuck. He pulled up 'names for hedgehogs' on his computer.
"Oooh, there's a bunch of names here. Like Quill, Button, Spike..." listed Uncle Chuck. "No way. I'm not having Quill, Button, or Spike as my name thank you very much." I joked. Uncle Chuck chuckled. "What about Sonic? That's the #1 name on here."
That made me perk up. Sonic? That's the name Tikal gave me. Uncle Chuck saw my reaction. "Oh, you like that name? Sonic it is then." He agreed. I nodded. "I told you~~" bragged Tikal. "Hush," I responded playfully. Thankfully Uncle Chuck didn't hear.
"Let me show you to your new room," said Uncle Chuck. He showed me to my room. Nothing special. Merely a guest bedroom. Me and Uncle Chuck smiled at each other. "I love you Sonic. Enjoy your new room while I cook supper." said Uncle Chuck.
He slammed the door behind me. I sat down on the bed and Tikal came into my sight. "I told you, didn't I?" asked Tikal. "Yeah... you did. How long are you going to be whispering in my ear?" I asked. "For as long as you have that emerald." answered Tikal.
"Oh right! The emerald! I forgot about that!" I took the blue emerald out so I could examine it. "What happened to me, Tikal?" I asked. "I told you. The emerald chose you. You now have its energy and powers." reminded Tikal.
"I know but... why? I'm a nobody." I said. "You're more special than you think you are, Sonic. Just wait." countered Tikal. She started fading away. "Yeah that's not very helpful Tikal." I said. "You'll see what I mean." were the last five words she said before she faded away completely.
I rolled my eyes. "Sonic, supper is ready!" called Uncle Chuck. "Coming, Uncle Chuck!" I replied as I raced down to meet him in the kitchen.
