Me, Tikal, and Tails were walking home from school, laughing and joking on the way. Then when we got home, we all saw something startling: robots had invaded our house. "Uncle Chuck!" cried Tails. Me and Tails ran inside, but we hadn't noticed that Tikal stayed behind.

"The journey begins," she said, smiling proudly and vanishing, this time for good. But I would see her again, just didn't know when. All that I could think about was getting to Uncle Chuck. But I didn't know what awaited me at the time.

But what I saw made my blood boil hotter than it ever has before:

A robot. Uncle Chuck.

Blood.

The man controlling the robot saw me and Tails. "Why, hello there little Sonic and Tails, I am Dr. Robotnik, and I am here..." started Dr. Robotnik, pointing at me.

"For you."

What was most horrifying besides that he killed Uncle Chuck, is that he knew our names... But the fear was quickly replaced by anger as I marched towards him. "WHY DID YOU KILL HIM IF YOU WERE AFTER ME?!!" I asked furiously.

"He was in the way. Wouldn't tell me where you were. Now if you come along like a nice little fella, I won't hurt your fox buddy either." taunted Dr. Robotnik.

But I was too stubborn to listen to reason, as I attacked him blindly, electricity coming from my quills and shocking him, hopefully to death as I spindashed him to get him out of the house.

Little did I know, that wasn't the last I'd see of him.

"S-S-Sonic," stammered Uncle Chuck. "Chuck!" I cried, rushing to his side. Tails backed off from him letting us have our moment. We failed to notice Tikal wasn't there. "You're gonna be alright, please tell me you're gonna be alright!" I pleaded.

"I-It's too l-l-late for me, my boy..." revealed Uncle Chuck weakly, his weak and bloody face smiling painfully. My ears pinned back and I started sobbing. "But not for you." I looked up with teary emerald-green eyes.

"Your journey has just begun." He smiled widely, but painfully as he reached his violently trembling hand out for mine. I took it and cried uncontrollably.

"I love you."

He took his last breath and his eyes went emotionless and lifeless.
I sobbed uncontrollably, with Tails not knowing what to really do. Then there were no tears left to cry, I stood up and sniffled, rubbing my nose.

"So... what do we do now?" I asked, my ears drooped and my emerald-green eyes staring at the lifeless body. Tails didn't respond. His ears' posture matched mine. He looked at me up and down, possibly examining me before making his move.

He hugged me tightly, surprising me very much so. No one's ever hugged me before. Even if Chuck loved me he never hugged me. I've never felt the comfort or softness of a hug, if anyone ever touches me it's punching me, choking me or something else.

"I love you Sonic." spoke Tails, his hug getting tighter. I closed my eyes tightly, trembling violently as I hugged him back.

"I love you too Tails."
