I brung Tails home to Uncle Chuck. "Hey Uncle Chuck, I'm home!" I greeted. "Wonderful, Sonic. I was just about to make your favorite chilidogs. Who's your new friend?" He asked. Tails was hiding behind my leg shyly, even shivering a bit. "This is Tails, he got separated from his family a while back." I answered.

"N-Nice to meet you mister... he won't hurt me will he?" asked Tails looking up at me. I shook my head softly and smiled. "No he won't." I answered, going over to where Uncle Chuck's chair was. "I'm Charles, but you can call me Chuck, young one. I am Sonic's uncle." He answered softly.

"I was wondering if I could live here..." said Tails quietly. "Of course little one. You can stay here as long as you like. You're one of us now." Uncle Chuck put his hand on his chin as if inspecting Tails. "My, my. It's rare enough to see a fox like my nephew, but with two tails? Fascinating, indeed."

"He's a bit of a scientist," I joked, gesturing towards Uncle Chuck. "I think science is interesting too," stated Tails. "Wonderful, Tails! Maybe we could talk science together." exclaimed Uncle Chuck. "Yeah! That'd be great!" agreed Tails.

"Oh no, if you guys are going to be rambling all day and night, I'm moving out. Seriously, I can't even get a blink of sleep with Sir. Talk-A-Lot over here whispering about his freaking gadgets and he knows it." I sighed, gesturing to Uncle Chuck once again.

"Awww, did you seriously forget about little ol' me? How hurtful." pouted Tikal playfully. "NO, you don't help either with you and your endless, invisible fortune cookies whispering in my ear 24/7." I snapped back. Tails seemed confused.

"Uhhhh...?" asked Tails. "Don't worry, just talking to the most annoying echidna alive." I reassured, smirking playfully. Tails looked around. "No one else can see or hear her but Sonic." informed Uncle Chuck.

"Oh," realized Tails. "Tikal, get away from him. You and I both know that's going to end badly." I ordered. Tails looked around again as Tikal returned to my side. "She was about to pick you up and do... things with you but I stopped her."

"She can pick me up?" asked Tails. "Yep. Scary thing is you can't see her." I answered. Tikal vanished, possibly not wanting to be around anymore. "Now, Sonic, can you show Tails to your room?" asked Uncle Chuck.

I nodded. "I'll make a new room for him tomorrow, but for right now show him yours since you have a bunk bed." I nodded again  and showed Tails to my room.

"Nice! I call top bunk!" called Tails. "Nope, top bunk's mine. You get bottom bunk." I argued quickly, grabbing one of his tails and pulling him down. "What?! You are so uncool, Sonic!" complained Tails. "Yeah, I know. I'm boring." I agreed playfully.

I leaped onto the top bunk and Tails took the bottom. "Hey, Sonic?" asked Tails. "Yes, Tails?" I asked. It took a few moments for him to respond, but I dealt with it. Finally, he spoke.

"Thanks."

I smiled. "You're welcome, pal." I responded.
