My Super Genius Futon-Obsessed Friend

  "Please just tell me that Armin is just staying in your house overnight..." It's easy to tell that Mr. Arlert was stressed, Armin was scared of the night, so there was no way he was wandering in the dark yesterday night. 

  "I'm sorry." Said Carla solemnly, "But Eren just told me that he's missing. Have you looked for him in Mikasa's house yet? They're also pretty close." Carla tried to help, but it was futile as Mr. Arlert told Carla that he had looked everywhere.

  Mr. Arlert left the house, with a green face filled with even more worry than before. 

  Mikasa knocked on the door next, "Ereh, it's me!" Carla answered the door and questioned Mikasa why she skipped school and she told her that she's looking for Armin. "I think the police have some clues now, about his location! He was kidnapped in the Attack On Park! Mr. Arlert received the message a while ago as well! He's safe! "

  Carla and Eren sighed in relief as Zeke walked out of his room, "What's all the mess about?"

  They had to tell Zeke the entire story again. 

  The police successfully brought Armin back afterwards, but refused to give out further information besides they arrested the kidnappers already and that the kidnappers abducted Armin for money. 

  "I thought I'd be dead for sure!" Armin said, almost monotonously. "But I was rescued by the police just the last moment, they are even nice enough to repair my futon!"

  "We are just glad you are safe," Said Mikasa in an equally monotonous voice, "I would never trust Kenny Ackerman with his job, so I'm glad another guy rescued you instead."

  Zeke looked around suspiciously, "Brother, I'm glad that your friends are safe." He dropped a single sentence before going back to his room, pondering. 

  Eren did not catch any of them acting strangely, he was actually just happy everyone was safe, he wasn't exactly the smart type, after all. 

  After everyone left, Carla sighed, "Maria isn't a safe place anymore, I should consider moving to Sina instead. Sina's housing price is too high though, I should talk to Grisha about moving to Rose." She decided to wait for Grisha's return from work before discussing. 

  Eren was bored in the house without his friends, so he went into Zeke's room, "ZEKEEEE!!! Anything new today?" 

  "Nothing beside Armin and Mikasa is possibly replaced by a doppelganger." Zeke said calmly. 

  "Umm... What's a doppelganger?" Eren asked, slightly embarrassed.

  "A body double." 

  "But... What?" Eren's mind exploded slightly. 

  "They have been acting weird since Armin disappeared." Zeke sipped his tea, and continued on, "I'm suspecting either Marleyeans or the government kidnapped both of them and replaced them. With a I have no idea what it is."

  "Or...Mikasa and Armin figured the president thing by themselves! And the president caught them and force them to obey him!" Zeke pointed out an alternative possibility, "This possibility is more grounded, I must say. I also heard Armin is very smart, so maybe..."

  "WE MUST HELP THEM, THEN!" Eren said determinedly. 

  "Carla is considering moving away, though, then we don't need to worry about this anymore, if we move, I mean."

  "I DON'T WANT ARMIN AND MIKASA TO FORGET ABOUT ME!" Eren suddenly wailed, "I WANT THEM TO REMEMBER ME FOR ANOTHER TEN YEARS, AT LEAST!"

  "Eren..." Zeke didn't know what to say to his sudden outburst. "I mean, I don't want to leave the baseball team as well, so maybe if we can convince Carla this place is not much more dangerous than Rose, then..."

  They joined in the conversation between Grisha and Carla that night, about their opinions on moving away from Maria. And reluctantly, Carla agreed to halt the idea until at least Zeke graduated. 

  They were relieved by that and started theorising about the president and why he was in their school again.  

  After a few days, they returned to school, still finding the atmosphere grim and depressing. There were students crying through class, and no one was really listening during classes. "Mikasa, Armin, I'm back."

  "We're so happy you're back!" Said Mikasa and Armin in unison, "One bad news, Eren, Armin will be transferring to the Survey School after this school year, and Mikasa is considering asking you to come to Survey School, so she can join as well, don't worry, Mr. Smith told us that Survey School is for students with top grades. We are so sure you will do well in the upcoming exam!" 

  "Alright! If mom approves! I'm sure I'll do well as well!" Eren exclaimed cheerfully. 

  "Are you sure we have to bring that idiot as well? Erwin, I'd rather trust your judgement, but I can't see what good that boy will bring." Behind the pillar, the president and his bodyguard discussed quietly. 

  "I have no other choice, since Mikasa Ackerman is borderline obsessive with the boy, just make sure not to tell him too much. Also, from the last incident, I think the 'injecting the entire school plan' will cause too much havoc, but we have to keep an eye on every student for them to not leave this school permanently. " 

  "The agreement only includes Eren and Mikasa's grade, correct?" Mike suddenly showed up to Erwin and Levi's conversation, "Does it mean I can still give Zeke Jaeger 0 on his report card?"

  "Yes," Said Levi.

  "No," Said the president, and that was the end of giving Zeke a 0 scheme. "I rather like that kid, why do you hate him?" Erwin asked curiously.

  "Because he hit my head with a baseball!" Complained Mike. 

  "What about you, Levi?" Erwin turned to his bodyguard instead.

  "Because I just do, no reason is needed. He carries a monkey case phone around, and I believe monkeys to be the worst creatures, ever." Levi looked away from Erwin's stare, refusing to say anything else. 

  "You guys are pretty unforgiving," Erwin laughed.

    Eren walked around the school and was disappointed to see a lot of his friends changed school, he even missed Jean a little, despite them never getting along. Jean managed to convince his mom to move to Wall Sina Elementary School, as his best friend Marco was half-eaten trying to save him. Two other students, Hitch and Marlo also moved to Wall Sina Elementary School. Eren still remembered when he asked why Marlo fought with Eld, only to discover it was a misunderstanding. Even Annie Leonhart moved there,  which is a huge relief to Mikasa, who hated her. Sasha, the food obsessed girl moved to Wall Rose Public School, and Eren must admit that he sort of missed all the students that either moved or were eaten, the school halls feels so empty to him now. 

  "Zeke..." Eren called out to him, looking less energetic than usual. 

  "Half the baseball team were still in the school." Zeke told him, "You can join if you wanted to, I'm sure Yelena would appreciate someone to fill in the spots. And you're not bad at sports at all." 

  "Eren." Armin called Eren, "I'm sad that Annie moved."

  "I'm not." Said Mikasa aggressively.

  "Anyway, the teachers have gotten lazier since the incident happened! Just wait till English class! I don't know what's gotten into Mr. Zacharias!" Armin shifted the topic to hide Mikasa's distaste for Annie in front of Reiner, a friend of Annie who was also the best friend of Bertholdt. "I do wish the incident would make the biology teacher more normal, but she just got weirder, she was talking about the anatomy of the weird hybrid monster in class! Why is she even interested in such weird creatures?" 

  "I'm glad Jean moved, now he will stop bothering me." Mikasa told Armin coldly. "Annie is more annoying though, I'm honestly overjoyed to see some annoying people leave the school."

  "Mikasa..." Armin tried to cover her words again, to no avail.
