Friday morning, a weekly visit to my parents' graves. A tear falling down my cheek, struggling to comprehend the sudden loss. From my dad that suffered a severe stroke, to my mum being killed in her sleep.
I moved out weeks before their death, to live with my girlfriend of almost two years. Her and her sister, Paige, have been very welcoming and supportive of my loss as they lost their parents due to being absent.
"R.I.P mum and dad," I said as I used my hand to draw the cross against my chest "I hope you're resting peacefully, and god, I miss you both so much," my voice broke as I grabbed a tissue from my flannel pocket, which was tied around my waist "Lee's doing okay, he's been living with Auntie Ollie and Uncle John," I giggled slightly, Ollie being Olivia "I heard he's still healthy and as happy as can be without you. I've been doing okay, been living with Penny and I'm going to therapy after many years of denying to. I love and miss you everyday." I said, wiping the sweat from my forehead and giving the graves a smile before walking back home.
Before they died, although I love Penny, they would always tell me how they disliked Penny, not because of her also being a woman, but because of her being a neko. We never saw anything wrong with it so stuck together like glue.
With Penny being at work, her sister, Paige, should be at home. She's on her sandwich year for university but has been struggling to find a job. Unlike Penny who wanted to get into work immediately, Paige wanted to be a teacher for nursery children, so took the psychology route through college to university to understand children's behaviours.
I get home to the sound of Paige's groans, her stress increasing everyday she doesn't have a job. She was on her laptop and sat on the sofa, frustrating yet stressed over her failure on getting a job.
"Are you okay? You sound stressed." I interrupted her focus as I sat next to her.
She took a deep breath "Can I lay my head on your shoulder?" she asked, ignoring my question.
"Yeah, of course." I responded as she gently laid her head on my shoulder.
"I just can't get a job," she said, sighing in defeat "I'm tired from the stress and I feel I'm not good enough for what I want to do."
