"He was a criminal."

"He was an agent."

"Does that excuse it?" You spat, "Letting him hide behind his badge because he did good for the organization? Well, fuck you, he killed Scott!"

"...Because of you."

You couldn't believe you actually had to defend yourself in a room with five other people, including Fury, about the actions you took following the death of an avenger.

"He deserved it."

"Funny how he's not here to defend himself," One snidely commented, "If you followed SHIELD protocol, you would've arrested him so he could stand trial."

"Are you fucking kidding me? I'm not even a part of this fucked up-" You gaped at them, "He betrayed his SHIELD orders and so did the rest of them! And then he killed Scott Lang, an avenger – or just an innocent, before he attempted to kill the rest and three citizens," You shook your head in disbelief, smiling because it was all just so ridiculous, and you couldn't comprehend their thought process, "I'm not even including myself because I know some of you don't even see me as human, some of you wish I had died at his hands, and hell, maybe a couple of you even assisted him in the little escapade," You stood from your chair, kicking it back with the effort, "But I'm not going to fucking sit here and let you tell me about the wrong moves I made when I'm not even-"

"Y/n-" Fury tried, but you cut him off.

"They want my blood," You told him firmly and then looked around at the others, "And you know where to find me, so come collect it any time and I will gladly paint my walls with yours."

You stormed out of the room, and they didn't say anything, just sat there fuming. Natasha was waiting outside, and you rushed over to smash your lips against hers in a bruising kiss, taking her hand, and leading her out the building in a flurry of adrenaline.

"'m guessing it went well?" She mused as the two of you hailed a cab, heading back to Brooklyn.

"No," You told her honestly and she tilted her head with narrowed eyes, curious as to why you were smiling anyways before you continued, "But I don't care. Scott's alive, everyone's okay, and Logan, along with his buddies, are all dealt with," You sighed contently, resting back in your seat of the car, "I did everything I had to, and I don't need their approval."

"Steve told me what he found in the cabin." She told you with caution in her voice.

"Okay..."

"And you found that to be necessary when you knew deep down there was a chance you could still save Lang?" She had to ask, and you looked away to peer out the window instead, leaving the question to hang in the air between you both.

The rest of the ride was silent, and you paid the driver, getting out without even sparing her a glance.

She followed you inside, closing and locking the door behind her while Ollie ran up to you, Cory having dropped him off a couple of hours ago, knowing you were heading home soon.

"Really don't want to fight." You told her honestly as the two of you made it to the kitchen and you pulled out your phone, realizing there wasn't any food in the house.

You quickly filled your cart up with the basics, getting some random things too since you were currently hungry and wishing for certain things, and then passed it over to her so she could pick whatever she wanted.

"I'm not fighting with you," She assured, adding a handful of things, and making sure you didn't get too many junky snacks because she was always trying to watch out for your health, "I'm just trying to understand."

"I was pissed," You took a deep breath, leaning your palms on the island, and then maybe clenching your fists a little too hard, your nails marking your palms, "And Scott was dead, I watched the life leave his body. But Logan was there, and I made it...I did what needed to be done."

She studied you for a long moment, knowing you better than maybe you knew yourself, and she shook her head.

"There's something else."

"Natasha." You groaned, turning to get a glass of water, and taking a few big gulps before setting it back down.

After you saved Scott...

She ran over the second you released him and just caught you before you hit the ground, your golden eyes rolling back, making her panic. But then the light when out and your breathing was regular, so she gently carried you into the jet where Wanda and Sam kept an eye on you.

"Romanoff-" Steve tried, seeing the distress across his friend's face, and not wanting to add to it, but he needed to tell her.

"What?" She asked and then widened her eyes as she saw Scott wake up, putting a hand to his head like he had a headache, but besides that, he looked good as new.

Bucky and Tony were asking him questions and she was smiling sadly, knowing you saved him, but hoping you'd wake up soon so you could see what good you've done.

"We need to talk."

"Okay, what is it?"

He pulled her aside so the others couldn't overhear, but she was impatient because she wanted to get back to you and then back to the tower as soon as possible.

"The scene in there is..."

"What? Bloody? He killed Scott and stopped her from saving him," She defended, "She killed him, and I would've done the same thing, probably slowly."

"It's not that."

"Out with it, Rogers, we don't have all day here."
"I don't know how she did it but..." He trailed off, running a hand down his face with a deep breath, and tried to word this right, but he was at a loss.

"What is it?" It unintentionally came out as a whisper and he met her eyes again.

"He's...all over the walls, Nat," Steve swallowed thickly, looking disturbed, "She somehow exploded him...I'm guessing from the inside out?"

"All over the walls?"

"I messaged Banner about the color, and he said that when every...part of the human body is mixed, hypothetically in a blender, it turns pink."

"You're saying the inside of that cabin is..." She squinted, not wanting to believe what he was telling her, "Pink?"

"But she came out clear of that color." He nodded.

"So, it happened after she got outside." Natasha concluded, fear lacing her voice.

Back in Brooklyn...

"So, nothing weird or off happened in that cabin other than you killing Logan?"

"Right."
