Chapter 16 | MONSTER: A War that spans the Oceans (Final Battle Pt.1)

Last time on Atonement Rebirth: The sinners encountered another bunch of Shepherd clones and were nearly defeated by them. They've somehow gained a few upgrades, being bigger and having more firepower. At one point, Y/n had to fight solo against two of the remaining clones and was nearly killed, only for Linghun attempting to save his best friend and intending to sacrifice himself. This was when the alters appeared. Members of META joined the fray, overpowering the clones, and they were bigger and badder. When the battle was over- with Ghost, a member of META, dealing the finishing blow. Soon after, META has declared their allegiance with Azur Lane and will help them against Shepherd from the shadows.

Whatsmore, Y/n(+Monarch) has gained themselves a new partner in Taihou. An odd circumstance but a welcoming one.

It's been days to weeks since the last battle. Because of the attack, tension around the base was high. Every single member took part in a multitude of training sessions be it: sparring, target training, endurance and speed training, etc. Even the sinners were taking their training seriously. Because of their very obvious defeat from their last battle, the four pushed themselves past their limits, trying to figure out how to increase their strength or even perhaps awakening a latent power. As promised, some members of META came to their aid and helped them seek what they were searching for. Judgment makes his "shocking" return.

Thanks to META's help, all the sinners have to do now is to simply continue to train and strengthen themselves in order for their bodies to be able to handle as well as contain their swiftly growing powers.

As the sinners trained, more joined them- this then led to the creation of multiple teams, with each sinner leading two. The kan-sens who joined were fully capable of handling their own in a fight as well as being able to at least keep up with the sinners:
