The next day, Emily decided to skip school. She drove her car and headed to Forte and Valco Law Firm, a thirty-minute drive from her home to talk to his father's lawyer.

"Miss Emily Martin?"

She extended her hand to him. "Yes, I'm Emily Martin."

The man, in his forties, gently shook her hand. "I'm Atty. Felix Forte, please, have a sit."

Emily took the seat he had motioned for her, noting the light aura coming from the attorney. His office was small, a shelf on the side, no space for another thick book.

"I have here Mr. Martin's will and I already took some actions regarding the pending suit against your father."

Her heart skipped a beat. "What will happen to that case? I mean... My dad..." She bit back her sob, taking big breaths, not letting her emotion get the best of her.

"The court might demand a substitute, Miss Martin. But I'm doing all my best for that not to happen. I'll make them drop the charges."

She slowly nodded, still scared.

Sebastian's death had already been reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission... All his money were transferred into her account, no cents have been given to Olivia, Sebastian's ex-wife. BOD had their election last week... Wilson Diaz as the new elected president.

The attorney tattled more, things that could have happen to the company or any other personal things of her father. It seemed everything had been settled, exactly what she had predicted. She knew her father well, he was organized and a control freak. But she couldn't absorb every word Atty. Forte was saying, specifically the technical terms she knew nothing about.

"You don't have to worry," he assured her. "With his wealth, you don't even have to work a single day of your life."

Emily blinked back her tears. "What if my father had been murdered? What if it's not a heart attack?"

The attorney unbuttoned his shiny black suit and loosened his neck tie. He was silent for a moment. "I have here his medical records, Miss Martin. The doctors confirmed it was a heart attack."

No. She still couldn't make herself believe that story.

"It's a lot to take in, I know," he said in a low tone. "By the way, he had asked me to give this to you personally."

He handed her a brown envelope.

"I'll send to you some of his belongings he left in his office, including some gadgets and his cell phone."

A knock came in, a woman peeking at the door. "Your two o'clock is here."

Atty. Forte waved his secretary away as he briefly checked his watch. "I'll give you updates about the pending case. Other than that, you don't have to worry. If you need anything else or want me to do something for you, don't hesitate to ask. I owe your father a lot, Emily. I'd like to help you as much as I can."

She gripped the envelope tightly. "Thank you, Atty. Forte. I'll keep that in mind."

He nodded firmly and stood up. "I have another client to attend to, please excuse me."
