"You have a meeting with Mr. Louvell at ten and a visit and tour at New Elton International School for their research facility at one. Then you have an appointment with the BOD at four."
Wilson tossed his eye glasses onto his desk and brushed his temple, trying to relax. His shoulders were slumped as he rested his back on his seat, claiming the peace he could have in between minutes of his daily activities at work. But hearing the packed meetings and tour he had to do, he felt irritated once again. Running a company this huge wasn't a joke.
Wilson checked his watch. It was only after nine, still had more minutes before his meeting with Mr. Louvell. "Thanks, Lisa. You may go."
His secretary nodded stiffly and walked out of his office.
Typing a code in his laptop, Wilson put it in locked and stood, heading straight to the door. He passed by his secretary without a lone word and walked toward the elevator.
He went straight to the Research facility and walked in at Sebastian's Lab, typing the password on the keypad. Wilson looked around the place, trying to imagine his bestfriend working to his experiments. He was that kind of person, the one who didn't care about rules or theories. Their arguments bounced inside his head, the disagreements and threats. He just wished he had accepted the offer to be the one in charge back when Sebastian's father handed him the promotion.
Sometimes he regretted that decision. He should have been the president. He shouldn't have let Sebastian accept the deal between the Green Empire and the Yotta Corp.
He fished out his cellphone from his pocket and dialed a number. "Have you found it yet?"
"It's in her house, sir."
Sparks course through his body. "How sure are you?"
"A hundred percent sure, sir."
Wilson's body tensed. "How is that possible? She knew nothing about her father's things!" he barked in anger.
"They are living together, Mr. Diaz. We've concluded that she is trying to hide it. We'll conduct more observations, sir."
He closed his eyes in utter horror.
Emily shouldn't be living with a designed killing machine. It should be terminated. Soon.

The pumping of pulse somewhere inside Taren's head was like a flickering light. On and off. He felt ill and irritated, a mood he'd never encountered before. He didn't know how to deal with it, to be honest, but he still tried to be okay or else Emily would bombard him with hundred questions. And he wasn't in the mood to answer questions he didn't know the answer to.
Night dimmed the place, the moon fixed right above his head, gleaming fully. Taren looked around the place, noticing the houses that stood a bit far from theirs, straining his ears for any foreign sound that surrounded him.
It was Emily's idea to climb on to the roof top, waiting for the shower of meteors that was reported to happen any moment that night. Taren's feet felt the coldness of the ground as well as the chilly air that blew in his direction.
"I brought us some snacks!" she sang happily.
Taren helped her settle the nachos, cookies and brownies on the blanket.
"I wonder what you are going to wish if ever we saw a falling star tonight," she asked curiously, eyes small.
He shrugged his shoulder. "Why bother wishing on a dead star?"
