My phone rings suddenly, waking me up from a nap I had just decided to take during an over night shift. Jumping up, I grab my phone from the floor and notice the caller ID.
Frowning I answer it "to what do I owe the pleasure Aaron?" I ask and there is a few seconds pause before my friend responds "I was wondering if you were still interested in that job on our team?" My breath catches in my throat for a second. I had completely forgotten about the job that Aaron Hotchner offered me in the chaos of the last few months. A job on a section of the FBI as their on call doctor, it sounded so ridiculous out loud but knowing the job that they do, it might be handy for them and I know that Aaron trusts me with his life and that he would put the lives of his team in my hands as well.
"Uh." I say slowly, biting my lip and running my hand through my hair "I have actually." I wince slightly and Aaron stays silent waiting for me to answer. I take a deep breath just as Alex walks into the on call room. "Aaron." I mouth to him and he nods his head. The past week, since kicking Jo out of the house, we have done some talking about what we want and what we see in the future. One thing was an instant for us. More kids.
We couldn't have more children living where we are now and neither of us are completely sure that we want to continue with the demanding hours of being a full time surgeon required. We were thinking of something more on call so that we have more time to spend with our family. This seems like the perfect opportunity.
"When do I start?" I ask, Alex smiles as he realises what is happening. I smile too, clutching the phone tightly in my hand "preferably as soon as you can if that works for you?" Aaron suggests and I nod my head before realising he can't see me. "Alex and I will have to start looking for places in Virginia but of course! I'll see you soon." I can picture the look of a slight smile on the man's face as he answers "see you soon Andy."
I end the call and turn to Alex "I took the job at Quantico." I say and bite my lip nervously. "Well done." Alex says picking me up suddenly and spinning me around "that's perfect! We can move into a bigger house, I can start looking at hospitals in the area! And we can finally have a bigger family!"
I giggle and hug him tightly, it wasn't the dream we first set out to have but it is our dream now. And it's finally happening!!!

A month later
Alex and I started looking for houses as soon as we got home that night and found the perfect one that is not too far from where I will be working and it has a hospital near by that Alex has agreed to be an on call emergency surgeon for. Everything is falling into place.
We are moving today, driving because despite how long it has been. I don't trust planes after what happened to my friends. Speaking of, we are standing outside of our old place now, car packed with things, everything else sent off in a delivery truck. Our friends standing around us waiting to say goodbye.
I turn to Derek, who has tears in his eyes "I'm gonna miss you Andy." He says enveloping me in a hug. I sigh and close my eyes, Derek has been like my platonic soulmate ever since I moved to Seattle and I could think of anyone I would rather call my best friend "I'm gonna miss you too." I say attempting to hold back tears and failing, next is Meredith. I have never been incredibly close to her but we have several things in common which meant we never hated each other "it's gonna be weird without you and Alex here." She says and I nod my head "don't burn the place down." I say with a slight laugh, alluding to how much bad luck that girl seems to have.
Arizona hugs me next "I hope you and Callie patch things up." I whisper and she doesn't say anything except she smiles at me and wipes a few tears from her own eyes. After Callie gives Arizona a dirty look, she also embraces me "don't be a stranger ok. Even if you are a big shot with the FBI now." She says and I laugh as several more tears fall. Along with Derek, she has been one of my best friends and I will always cherish the times we spent laying in bed and drinking wine as one of our lives fell apart.
"I want loads of photos of Sofia okay?" I say before turning to Derek and Meredith "and Zola and Bailey." They nod their heads and Alex comes over, squeezing my arm. "Ready to go?" He asks and I look up at the man I love and wonder what is in store for us next. I nod my head slowly and he guides me towards the car. Alex secures Willow who seems very confused about what is going on and I look over at my friend.
I wave as we drive away and Alex squeezes my hand again "next stop Virginia." He says and I smile.

Several years later
I am sitting at the kitchen table, rubbing my quite large stomach as I go over the bills that have just come in, Alex got called in tonight after a huge pile up on the highway. I hear screaming coming from the living but unlike any other parent who would rush to see why their child is screaming, I barely blink. Instead calling out "Willow, stop terrorising your siblings." I hear footsteps and then suddenly 4 pairs of legs appear in the door way.
After Alex and I moved to Virgina I found out that I was pregnant. With triplets. Alex was excited but I was less then thrilled of having to push that many bodies out of my own. Despite that however, we now have three more beautiful children. Max, Xavier and Laney. My beautiful children, and now we are preparing for our final child. I was very strict on that, despite Alex wanting more. No more children after number 5, which we have decided to keep a secret of which gender it is, having two girls and two boys is a blessing already.
"But they took my toys." Willow says crossing her arms and pouting, looking so much like her father it makes my heart clench whenever I look at her. Suddenly we all hear the front door unlock and I turn wide eyed to my children "you better hide." I warn jokingly "otherwise Daddy will come and gobble you up."
The kids scream and run to hide in the living room. Alex appears through the hallway and kisses me gently on the forehead "it's oddly quiet in here." He says and I nod smirking at him "the kids are hiding from you." I say and he raises his eyebrows "oh yeah? And why is that?" I shrug, sitting back in my chair and lacing my fingers on my stomach "I may or may not have told them you were going to eat them if you found them." Alex laughs and stands up and says loudly "well, I am starving. I need to find some children to eat." We hear giggle from the curtains and I watch as my beautiful husband starts to play with his wonderful children and I am so thankful for this life.
My phone rings from my back pocket and I answer it without looking at the caller ID. "Hello, Andromeda Karev." I say and then I hear a familiar voice "Andy? It's Meredith, Derek is dead."
