After years of turmoil, the Vampire Boys can finally breathe. Start new lives. Not necessarily forget the past, but move on. Heal from the pain that was caused. Truthfully, the most excited was likely Jino. He kept referring to it as his brain tingling. Ready to start college. Heli rolled his eyes with a chuckle. It was as if someone gave a toddler sugar. Jino had the biggest smile as they pulled up to the university.

"Did you ever think we'd get to this point in life? To say we can attend university?" Heli let go of the steering wheel and placed his hands in his lap.

"After everything we went through, I didn't think we'd be alive to see this day." Jino sighed, appreciating the sight of students arriving and entering the building.

"We can't start the future if we keep sitting here." Heli shrugged, unbuckling and exiting the car, heading to the back seat to grab his book bag.

Without a second thought, Jino copied Heli's actions. They stood next to the crosswalk, taking one more glance at the massive brick-and-mortar building. Heli patted Jino's shoulder. Nodding with a smile.

I'm proud of you. He said through their telepathic connection.

I'm proud of you, too.

It didn't take much after that to head to their first class of the day: Visual Arts.

Neither of these men knew why they wanted to take this course other than to learn about different forms of artistry. Considering it was still fairly early in the morning, it seemed like a good warm-up to the day as well.

They looked side to side as they scanned for the correct door to go to. The halls were filled with mostly freshmen and sophomores. The sophomores hugged each other after not seeing each other in almost a month or two. Some freshmen were sprinting because they went to the wrong wing.

Both men stayed silent but could feel their anxiousness building. This is nothing like Riverfield. Nothing from Riverfield could have prepared them for this either.

We've fought off evil entities before. Why is a university classroom so daunting? Heli spoke first.

We weren't taught how to act normally. We were always told to act human despite not being human. That had to be the only reason. Though they were focused on their studies at Riverfield, all of their efforts were focused on not outing themselves as vampires. Then Sooha came along.

Don't say that name. Heli winced at the mention of his ex. Whoever the hell she was; before nodding toward the room they were supposed to be in.

Then stay out of my head. Jino shrugged as he pushed the door open.

They stood in the doorway for a moment, taking in the sight of freshmen getting acquainted and a few sophomores who already were spilling every juicy detail of their summers. By the looks of it, one would assume the two of them might be sophomores. All things considered, Heli is now 93 but looked 22/23 and Jino is 90 but looked 20/21. Come to think of it, they would probably be Juniors if they had started a few years prior.

They took a deep breath before locating two seats next to each other at a table. Strategically placed for the more hands-on lessons. The room was filled with the scent of acrylic, earthy tones of ceramics, and paint remover. It was an odd mix but maybe people were so used to it that they had nose blindness.

The tables had nicks, stains, and dents from years of wear and tear. Even cabinets were looking as used as the tables. Art supplies scattered the room in zigzags and weird positions. It felt like an art studio that they decided could double as a college classroom.
