"What you're saying is that Selen knew not just us, but you in our past lives?" Solon questioned as he paces back and forth.

"Yep!" Cyra confirmed.

"Aish Shibal!" Heli curses. "Not this shit again!"

"And you two were lovers back then as well?" Jaan was making sure they had every detail.

"That too." Jino sighed.

"And because she's the reincarnation of a goddess's daughter..." Shion trailed off for someone to finish his sentence.

"All of Olympus, probably some of Asgard, every god and goddess known in existence... is going to try and kill me. And they're sending Selen to do it." Cyra looks to the space before her. This is such a mess.

"Now that you've burned down half a building, no thanks to Selen, they all know your location?" Jakah repeats what Lilith and Hecate explained.

"Just when I thought my life was getting better." Cyra flops back on Jino's bed.

The ceiling was simply boards. There wasn't enough rooms in the house they bought, so they asked the town if they could modify the attic for two more rooms. Jino is on the left side of the attic and Solon is on the right. Jino stuck glow-in-the-dark stars in various spots. She counted them for what felt like the tenth time. There's fifty stars. The number doesn't change each time she counts.

"So, what do we do?" Noa sounded scared out of his mind. They just started to love their new home.

"There's nothing you can do. It's me who has to leave." Cyra explains, not bothering to sit up.

"What?" Jino's voice cracks. They've only had one (two depending on who you ask) date and she has to leave because their past is coming back to bite them in the ass.

"I can't stay here and risk your wellbeing." Cyra sighs as she sits up. "Solon just said that you guys moved here because you were gunned down by authorities in Riverfield trying to get to your friend Chloe."

All seven of them tense up as Cyra mentions Chloe. The only friend they had left before the town became a post apocalyptic mess because vampires became officially illegal. Not just, 'We don't like you so we're going to kill you.' Authorities tore up the town looking for them. It caused innocent people to riot because their things were being destroyed and they were being accused of something they weren't. It was devastating.

"Cyra, we're not letting you go that easily." Fiona added softly.

Cyra's gaze softened as her best friend said that. "You just started dating Heli. I'm not going to destroy your relationship by existing in the same space."

"And you just started dating Jino." Heli stated.

"He's already been through enough." Cyra's voice was just above a whisper. "This is the second time I've done something like this."

"What do you mean 'second time'?" Jaan was rightfully suspicious.

Cyra looked to Fiona. Fear was evident in her gaze as the memories of the January incident flooded her mind. She took a deep breath. It was time to come clean about what happened.

It was her cousin's 18th birthday. The family had gathered to celebrate this milestone birthday. To no one's surprise, there was pizza and ice cream cake. For the adults over twenty-one, there were alcoholic beverages. Everything seemed to have been going great. Despite dreading being there, Cyra felt relaxed for once.
