The first day wasn't a joke. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. sounded like it would go by quickly. It didn't. Jino almost missed his class after getting confused on campus. Swearing that he had followed the signs correctly. Heli walked into the wrong classroom thinking it was the right one. Only to realize that he had entered the wrong classroom the second the professor said Quantum Theory and Physics. That was NOT a class on his schedule at all.
There were two lectures in the middle of the day and they had to switch rooms at the end, which helped them tremendously. They used their telepathy to direct each other to the next hall. Jino nearly tripped over his feet when he saw the pretty woman from this morning enter before him.
You don't even know her name and you're already literally falling for her. Heli laughed.
Thanks for reminding me you're still there. Jino refrained from rolling his eyes as he entered the room.
Heli quickly told him that if he missed anything or if he missed something and Jino didn't, they could look over each other's notes. Agreeing to that, he got himself situated. His eyes immediately fell on the woman who was a few rows down but on the opposite side. It wasn't a large lecture hall so he could make out her features almost perfectly. Siren-shaped brown eyes. A button nose that he thought was adorable... if noses could be adorable. Bottom-heavy lips that gave a shy smile whenever someone said hello to her. Oval-shaped face.
Dude, why are you making a checklist instead of going over and talking to her? Heli popped in again.
Heli... Jino groaned. Taking in a deep breath before opening his notebook.
If we're going to do this "normal human" thing, talking to people we find attractive is a part of that. Did Heli have a point? Or was he letting the excitement of their first day get to his ego? He didn't know.
Did you talk to her friend at any point today? Pot calling the kettle black, is that how the saying goes? It was only fair to question him.
Not yet. Only because I haven't seen her since our first class nor have I seen her on this part of campus. Okay, fair enough. Jino came up with an idea that Heli probably already knew if he didn't leave.
I'm still here and you have a deal. If I go talk to her friend by the end of the week, you have to talk to her soon after. Gotta go! Talk to you in a bit. Just like that, it was silent on the other end.
Jino's attention was on the professor until he walked past the girl. How the hell is he going to talk to her without making a fool of himself? The only other girl he ever got close to was Sooha and that's because she dated Heli. He had no clue how to flirt, much less approach a woman without stumbling over himself. He was feeling defeated before even trying. That was until he looked in her direction again and saw her staring at him. Her eyes widened and her face immediately turned red as she looked away. Cyra's heart pounded. What if he thought she was creepy for looking at him? What if he approaches her after class and tells her off? The last thing she needed was to ruin any chances before she even got the chance.
Cyra looked back and saw him smiling. His ears and neck were tinted red. He was blushing too? Fuck, his smile is as gorgeous as he is. It was infectious as she found herself smiling back before turning her attention back to what was being explained. Jino smiled for a couple of reasons. That was fucking cute. He couldn't help but smile. Her smiling back (which nearly made his heart stop) also meant he didn't scare her by looking back at her. This could work. If small interactions like this keep happening, maybe he could have the confidence to talk to her.

After class, they almost ran into each other trying to beat the rush to get to their last class of the day. Their shock was quickly replaced with soft smiles. Both apologizing. They looked at each other for a moment, smiles faltering a little bit. Jino has only felt this once before. With someone he wasn't even romantically interested in. Cyra on the other hand, was trying not to feel this shock. She's never felt this before. She was trying to figure out what it meant but quickly gave up. Jino snapped out of it.
"Sorry about that. After you." He gestured for Cyra to go first.
"Oh, thank you." Cyra shyly nodded her before stepping ahead of him.
Her cheeks burned as she walked past him. But her smile didn't fade as she walked away. Jino watched her for a moment before walking in the opposite direction. His smile grew wider with each step. All he said was that he was sorry and let her go first. Why does it feel like he just asked her on a date and she said yes?
As soon as she knew she was away from the cute guy, she pulled out her phone to call Fiona. Fiona answered immediately. Cyra wouldn't call her in a time crunch like this."What's up, love?" Fiona sounded cheerful even though Cyra knew that was her trying to keep Cyra calm off the bat.
"You know that cute guy from our first class?" Cyra questioned.
"Oh shit! Did you talk to him?" Okay, that was understandable as to why Cyra would call.
"Yes and no. Yes, because we almost ran into each other. No, because it was quick pleasantries before leaving the hall. But something happened. Something happened and I think..." Cyra lowered her voice after looking to see if anyone was paying attention. "I think it's because of that thing... I have."
"Oh shit. Let me guess, Han River in three hours?" Fiona knows her best friend too well.
"Yes please." Cyra sounded almost desperate.
They hung up on a tense note. It was in moments like these that Cyra was grateful to have spare time. She headed to the bathroom to run cold water on her hands before rubbing her face with the cold water. That'll have to do for now.
