Fire Bird

Chapter 6

The piercing blue eyes flared dangerously at her. He suddenly removed himself from above her, resting on the couch as his shoulder slumped forward. "Dabi is my name," he answered shortly, and Akiya knew she hit a nerve.

Akiya didn't believe him, but it was exactly what she needed to buy her more time.

"Then what is your last name?" She continued to question, and she could steadily see the anger rising in the alpha. With those bright blue eyes flashing like lightning, the omega felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up; a natural reaction to danger.

"Dabi is my name," he answers shortly, almost snapping like a tig in a bear's mouth. His hands clench as he suddenly stands up, his height towering over her. "If you question it again, I'll make you regret it."

The threat was sharp but Akiya had to remind herself that his quirk could not hurt her. However, being immune to his fire didn't mean she could act carelessly. Her quirk didn't protect her from physical harm so he could easily beat or strangle her. It was something she had to learn early on, that just because fire couldn't hurt her, didn't mean she was invincible. The scar on her left palm was evidence of an experiment with a knife gone wrong.

Despite the intimidating alpha trying to assert dominance, Akiya needed to be brave and stand her ground. The more she fell into the stereotype of a weak pathetic omega, the more advantage the villain had over her. So with as much courage as she could muster, she shot back a reply. "Dabi sounds like a name you came up with. That means you're hiding something."

Dabi scoffed at her obvious statement. "Did you come up with that all by yourself, sweetheart?"

Akiya rolled her eyes at his sarcasm. "So, is that the name you came up with when you became a villain? Surely your parents didn't know you would have such a heinous quirk to give you a name like Dabi."

The blue-haired omega observed the way Dabi's shoulders tense at the mention of his parents. Were they dead? Or were they the reason he became like this? Akiya read too many detective books to not help but speculate different reasons why Dabi became who he was today.

On the other side, Dabi was growing impatient with the sudden interrogation the little brat was placing him under. How did they go from dirty talking to an open therapy session? His parents were a topic he never liked to talk about. "To be fair, my parents knew exactly what kind of quirk they were creating," Dabi remarked under his breath, his mind speaking out loud without his permission.

Akiya couldn't help but pick up on a certain word. "Creating?" She questioned. From her little education on quirks, she didn't think genetics worked that way.

Dabi's body went tense once more. He's already shared too much, and if he didn't change the subject soon, he might end up sending the house up in flames. He relaxed his face to a nonchalant smirk. "What is this? 20 questions?" He sneers. "I've got a question for you, why are you so nosey about everything?"

She narrowed her eyes at him skeptically. "Is that your way of getting out of the hot seat?"

Dabi snickered, his hand coming up to cup his scarred face. "The only hot seat is yours. And that's because your sexy ass is in it," he flirts, his blue eyes peering at her from over his fingers.

"What?" She blurted, staring at the alpha with a deep red face. How could he switch his mood so rapidly?!

"Akiya, have you ever touched yourself when alone? I'm sure all those stories you read must get you all hot and bothered," Dabi pressed, knowing damn well what he was doing.
