The doors flew open

Zhenya's shoes made clicking sounds on the marble floor.
Dimitri sat cross legged on a huge sofa

" I've been expecting you, YOUR HIGHNESS~ " Dimitri smirked, his green eyes looking a bit brighter than usual.

Zhenya wasn't giving much of an expression as Dimitri continued.

" I've helped you find your angel now it's time to keep your end of the deal " Dimitri walked towards Zhenya.

Zhenya smirked

" ohh, I haven't forgotten. You will get your end of the bargain when I completely take over the throne. My father and my lovely step - brother have been planning something behind me and I wouldn't want to ruin their fun while I already know the game they are about to play "

he chuckled, bemused.

"Tell me, Zhenya," Dimitri spoke, "do you truly believe you're better fit for the throne?" Dimitri's voice was low, but Zhenya could sense the intensity behind it.

"Caesar may be the eldest, but I'm the firstborn," Zhenya replied, his tone cold and determined. "I'll take what's rightfully mine."

Dimitri chuckled, "You have the ambition, I'll give you that. But you need more than ambition to win a throne. You need power.... And with my army at your side, you will have it." Dimitri walks in circles around the blonde.

"I have my own army," Zhenya crossed his arms

"Oh i know but will they be enough to go against Caesar's and your father's army in a go?, you need all the man power you can get"

Zhenya's eyes narrowed. "And what do you get out of this? We both know You're not a man who would lend his army without expecting nothing in return. You're a literal snake"
Zhenya spoke as he took a seat

"What I want, Your Highness," Dimitri said, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he emphasized the title, "is influence. You might become ruler in the future, so I've told you want i want for helping you find your little angel"

The room fell silent, Dimitri continued

"I want control of 50% of the royal army with complete autonomy "

Zhenya's gaze was unflinching.

"That's quite the demand. But if it means securing my throne..."

The room fell silent once more as the two men locked eyes. The power dynamics at play were palpable.

Zhenya knew the odds of him getting the throne was slim, because he knew his father was in support for Cesar to be the future ruler of hell.

Even though Zhenya was the heir, he knew no one was on his side when it comes to matters concerning the throne..

Dimitri broke the silence with a devilish grin. "Well, Your Highness? Are we in agreement?”

Dimitri stretched his hand for a hand shake to seal the deal.
Zhenya stared at the demon's hand, lifting his to give a from handshake to the other.

As soon as their hands were locked, a circle of green flames appeared around the two men in the room.

Gazing into eachothers eyes with nothing but malice and cunniness.

The deal was sealed.
If Zhenya tried to cross Dimitri he would go through an excruciating pain as his wings will slowly burn themselves. Painfully.

"Alright since we're done here, I'll be taking my leave first" Zhenya smiled as he walked passed Dimitri heading to the door probably going to see how Taekjoo was doing. Until he heard Dimitri spoke.

"You know, Zhenya, you may be the firstborn, but Caesar has something you don't have... The people's love."

Zhenya's smile vanished, replaced by a scowl. "The people are fickle. They love the crown, not the man who wears it."

"True true, but the love of the people can be a powerful weapon. A sword is useless without a hand to wield it."

Zhenya's gaze hardened,
"I have my ways of making people loyal. My brother's love for the people will be his downfall." Zhenya chuckled

Dimitri turned to face Zhenya, a calculating look in his eye. "And what of Taekjoo? What role does he play in all this?"

Dimitri had a smirk, he was planning something and Zhenya knew it. This bastard was trying to tick him off. But why tho?.

"Nevermind that anyways let's focus the deal we've made hmm?"
Dimitri grinned changing the subject

Zhenya spoke first, his eyes fixed on Dimitri's. "Of course . But there's one final piece of the puzzle."
Dimitri arched an eyebrow. "And what would that be?"
Zhenya smiled coldly. "The royal council. With them in our pocket, we'll have all the support we need."

Dimitri's expression became more serious as he considered Zhenya's words. "The council won't be easy to sway. Some of them are loyal to your father, and to Caesar."

Zhenya scoffed. "Loyalty is easily bought, or broken. And those who can't be swayed, well...let's just say they won't be a problem for long."

Dimitri nodded, his eyes gleaming with admiration for Zhenya's ruthless pragmatism though he didn't like the bastard much. "I see. And how do you propose we deal with the council?"

Zhenya's smile grew wider.

The tension in the room was palpable as Zhenya's smile grew wider, a predatory gleam in his eyes. "The council will fall in line, one way or another," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "Some will see the wisdom of supporting me. The rest..." Zhenya paused, letting the silence hang heavy in the air before continuing. "They will be made examples of."

Dimitri's own smile grew as he absorbed Zhenya's words. "I like the way you think, Your Highness. Caesar won't know what hit him."

Dimitri green eyes had a mischievous glint in them.

..'And you won't know what hit you either Zhenya'

.

Dimitri watched as Zhenya left the room.
