His eyes kept wandering around the bar. The black haired man was doing his job incredibly well. Neuvillette himself was fascinated by his extreme handwork. The way his fingers would move made Neuvillette's stomach flip. He couldn't help but stare at the man.

The poor guy probably has already noticed Neuvillette's intrusive and awkward stares, but he said nothing.  He would only glimpse at him from time to time, a small smile printed on his lips. Neuvillette was surprised that he could do his job perfectly even with the intense stares on him.

The man's back and shoulders were huge. Neuvillette himself was well built. His body didn't disappoint, but in comparation with the black haired guy, he was an ant. Neuvillette thought he had to be some kind of gym rat. Neuvillette noticed a scar under his eye but didn't pay any attention to it. He thought maybe it was because of some crazy client who started throwing a tantrum and, in the end, managed to throw a glass at the bartender. Stuff like that happened in all the books he read. He assumed they did in real life too.

He slowly started to remember why he was actually there, at Le Club. He was supposed to catch the criminal that kidnapped Lyney's brother. He was supposed to finally catch Fontaine's Fear, but there he was, checking some random bartender out. It's not like he planned on anything more. He didn't have the balls for it.
He sighed and took a look at the clock on the wall. It read 9 pm. They've been there for a while already but found no answers they needed. Neuvillette didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

He started wondering what Lyney had been up to. It's been a while since they've last met. Neuvillette thought it was time for him to return to the table they decided to rendez-vous at. He took one last sip of the drink, but before he could get off the chair, he saw a familiar figure standing in front of him.

Neuvillette widened his eyes at the sudden intrusion and spat all the liquid from his mouth.

'Scared ya, haven't I?'
It was Lyney. Neuvillette was relieved. He let out a sigh as he watched Lyney take the seat next to him. He mentally noted that he should inform Lyney to stop with these magical appreances. They were scary as hell.

'Monsieur, I thought we came here to catch that criminal, but there you are, checking out the bartender!' Lyney laughed out loud, as he said the last part loud enough for the black haired man to hear. Shit. Was he really that obvious? The bartender gave a small glance at the two and smirked, then turned around to continue his job. Neuvillette was slightly flustered.

'Lyney, we should go. We clearly aren't in the right place.' Neuvillette said. He then continued as if he remembered something. 'Wait, before we make our leave, drink this, please. It's vodka based, and I don't really enjoy alcohol, but the bartender was nice and said it was on him. I don't want to make a waste out of it.'

He handed the drink to Lyney. The boy took it in his hands, sniffed it, and chugged the whole liquid down his throat in a second. Neuvillette was flabbergasted.

'Holy Archons Monsieur! I'm so glad you didn't waste this masterpiece! Hey, bartender! Another one, please!' Lyney shouted out for the entire club to hear. Neuvillette was lowkey embarrassed by Lyney's way of talking, but he said nothing and watched in silence.

'Coming right up.' He heard from the other side. He was once again admiring that man doing his job so well. The drink was soon once again ready. The man placed it in front of Lyney, then made his was back to wash some glasses and utensils.

Neuvillette noticed something weird about Lyney's drink. The color was slightly different, and there were some weird bubbles in his drink. Neuvillette's for sure didn't look like that. He wanted to warn Lyney of the drink.
'Lyney, wait, don't drink it!' He screamed. But Lyney, satisfied with the bartender's artwork, as soon as he got his hands on the glass, he chugged it down with no hesitation. Neuvillette was scared. He didn't know what effects the poison in the drink would have.
