Jody and I were in the kitchen, grabbing some plates. I told her about the Necromancers and the Golem, which Jody was surprised about. "So, was he real or from whatever he made of?" she asked while we walked back into the living room, where Sam and Dean sat on the couch raiding a Pizza. "Boys seriously?" I wondered while Sam and Dean looked at me frozen. "You two are unbelievable." I moved between them and sat down. We watched something romantic on the TV. "You're not a rom-com chick. Wait, are you a rom-com chick?" Dean asked. "Are you?" Jody asked. "He's more of an animated Japanese erotica chick." Sam smiled, and I had to smile as well. "Really?" Jody sounded surprised. "Yeah, you wanna know something? He has a huge collection on his laptop." I whispered to her. I felt a hit on the back of my head, to which I replied, smacking Dean on the shoulder. Jody got up from her chair. "I have to leave this scintillating conversation." She said, walking out of the living room. "Don't tell her that," Dean told Sam, which made me crack up even more. "Tell her what?" Sam sounded annoyed. "But it's Jody, man." Dean sounded uncomfortable. "Dude, be proud of your hobby, big brother." I smacked him against the shoulder when Jody walked back into the room and I heard her sniffing, we quickly turned the TV off and followed her into her bedroom. "Jody, what's going on?" I asked, worried. "A friend of mine died." She said, choking up from tears. "Who?" we all asked at the same time. "Asa Fox." She replied while packing a bag. "Asa Fox, why does that sound so familiar," Dean asked, frowning his eyebrows. "Don't frown, brother; you only get wrinkles,"
I whispered. Dean nudged me on the shoulder. "Didn't Ellen mention him in the Roadhouse?" I asked Dean and Sam. "Yeah, supposedly, he killed five Wendigos in one night." Dean nodded, and I sat down on the edge of the bed. "Yeah, Yeah, he was a hunter. Asa came into town and tried to tell me his name was FBI Agent Fox Mulder. He was chasing a pack of ghouls. I helped and came through occasionally, and we got coffee or something." Jody stopped trying the tears, I got up and walked up to her pulling her into a hug.
"Oh, thank you, Kee." Jody took a second and continued to pack while I sat back on the edge of the bed. "Oh, he was a good man," Jody whispered, almost making me lean towards her to hear what she said. "The Wake is tonight, and there will be salt and burn the body tomorrow, I can't believe I said that like it's something normal." Jody stopped mid-packing. "Because you're a part of this, and that's what we do daily," I whispered. "We're coming with you," Dean said, stepping forward. I nodded, but Jody shook her head.
"You don't have to; I'll be fine," Jody said, finishing her packing. "Jody, you're grieving a friend. We're not letting you get through this alone." I got up from my place on the bed. "We know you'll be fine, but we never go to these hunter gatherings outside bars. Dad always said you were in trouble." Dean said behind me. "Yeah, you would do us all three a real favor if you let us tag along." Dean smiled while I quickly nodded. "Alright, but you'll have to wash up before you spend five hours with me in the car," Jody said, thankful, with a weak smile whipping her nose. "Where are we going? If it takes five hours?" Dean asked curiously, but Jody didn't answer and just told us where we could freshen up before heading off for five hours to Canada. Jody was driving with Dean while Sam and I went together in case I got tired. We stopped twice for food and gas. At the house where Asa and his mother lived, we walked straight inside; Dean and Sam walked in front of me while I quietly stood behind them. They greeted his mother, whom Jody knew.
"These are the Winchesters. Dean, their sister Kaylee." Jody introduced us, while I just gave a quick wave. "And Sam." Jody pointed to Sam, who had moved aside for me. "Come on in, make yourself at home." Asa's Mom smiled as she walked back into the living room full of hunters. I stayed behind when Dean pulled me into the living room, introducing me to Elvis, one of the other hunters. We chatted for a while when I saw Dean getting questioned by one of the other hunters while I talked to Elvis, who was super friendly. I looked around and saw Jody talking to somebody while Sam and Dean were both somewhere.
A woman walked up to me, and Elvis greeted her in a friendly way. "Kaylee, this is Alicia. She and her brother Ben." Elvis nodded to a man sitting on a nearby couch. "Are friends from Asa." he finished the sentence. "Hey." I gave her a nod. "You're a hunter?" she asked, and I nodded. "Yeah, me and my brothers." I nodded to Dean, who had just walked over with more beer. Dean passed me the beer and warned me that it was self-made. "You love that kinda stuff," I mumbled, taking a sip; Dean nudged me with a light scoff. "Shut up," he grumbled. "Sam, Dean, and I got raised by our Dad after Mom died in a house fire. He taught us everything we needed to know about hunting until I found my real Mom since Dad adopted me when I was four. She is a witch but not one of the good ones. She has been a pain in my backside since she came into my life." I grumbled. "You talking about family?" a younger man asked.
