Demie's PoV

"I am Mayumi Monvalle, I'm from Australia. Actually I've been here before but it's been a long time so I don't know the places here now." She added

I heard Carolyne's fake cough which sent me back into a trance. I swallowed hard and avoided the girl in front of me whose name was Mayumi.

"Aalis na tayo 'di ba?" She said and I shook my head.

"She's looking for the cinema, let's go with her."

"Sus!" She tapped me on the shoulder "Let's go! Let's go, Mayumi. Mamaya na kayo mag catch-up friday."

I saw Mayumi smile which made my heart smile. Can I befriend her, lord? I came back to myself when suddenly someone pulled me.

"Ang tagal ha, nakakainis." Carolyne said.

When we got to the cinema, the movie that Carolyne wanted to watch was also the movie that Mayumi wanted. Then when it was halfway through, I saw Mayumi crying, she's cute!

After we went to the movies, Carolyne asked Mayumi to have coffee and she did not refused. Mabuti na rin ng magka-kilanlan na kami.

Mayumi and Carolyne had been talking for almost half an hour. I thought of asking after hearing her stories with Carolyne. "So, why exactly did you return to the Philippines if you had a trauma here?"

"Because my sister is getting married on June nine. I don't want to be absent from her wedding day."

Napa 'O' ang labi ko dahil sa sinabi niya. "Congratulations sa kapatid mo, advance." I said

"Sure-"

"Kapatid mo, babae o lalake?" Carolyne asked and I saw how her reaction changed. She didn't seem to understand. She easily took her cellphone. After a few minutes, she smiled at us.

"She's a girl, thirty-five years old. Mandy, that's her name." She said napatango naman kami pareho ni Carolyne.

"How can you find her if you have no contact with her? It's hard to find someone here in the Philippines."

"We used to have a helper from here in the Philippines, and I know where their address is so I'll go there first because she knows Mandy's address."

Napatango na lamang ako bago inumin ang aking kape. Nang matapos na ang aming pag-uusap ay nauna nang nagpaalam si Mayumi sa amin. Hiningi niya rin ang number namin ni Carolyne in case of emergency-emergency na baka hindi niya matunton ang address.

Kinabukasan, although we went shopping yesterday, why can't I forget what Jonacz did to me? It's painful when you've been together for a long time and in an instant, it's gone. But I'm grateful that he admitted even if it's late. It's a good thing.

Ang kailangan ko na la'ng gawin ngayon, mag-move-on.

"Ay hala siya! Nag-inusarang nagpahiyom, mao ba kana ang effect sa pagbiya kanimo ni Jonacz?" I got poker-faced when I heard Carolyne's voice, lalo na sa sinabi niya.

I saw from the mirror that she made a peace sign. Napabuntonghininga naman ako. "I'm moving on na kaya, Carol. Matatapos din 'to. You just have to wait and see. Half a month ra nako siya makalimtan." Siyempre, I have to defend my side din.

"Gumagana pagka-cebuana mo. Are you ready to go back to Cebu?"

"Nganong mubalik man ko didto kung naa man akong ate nga homophobic? I'll just enjoy my life here in Manila, Kaysa makiglalis niya." I said and Carolyne laughed out loud. Hindi lang din basta homophobic, satanas din.

"Ay nga pala, si ate mong girl just called last night. She's kinda lost daw again so pinuntahan ko siya at inuwi samin-"

"Bak-"

Tinakpan niya ang bibig ko "Opps, hindi pa ako tapos." She said I know you will ask why I didn't call you. Beh, out of coverage ka."

I rolled my eyes at her then stood up. "So nasa'n siya ngayon?"

"Nasa bahay nga, beh, pajulit-julit lang?!"

"Huwag mo 'kong sigawan!" I yelled. She just smiled, a fake smile. "Let's go then."

Habang nasa biyahe kami, Carolyne keep asking about Jonacz. When you're about to move on but you have a friend who loves the past. Sarap palakpakan.

"Carolyne, mag-drive ka na lang ha?" I said and flashed a fake smile.

She just continued to drive. A few minutes later, we arrived at Carolyne's house. I saw my aunt and uncle so I immediately greeted them. Si Carolyne naman ay umalis na para mag-trabaho. It's her hobby talaga na every morning dadalawin niya ako.

Well, siguro kaya hindi siya pumunta sa kasal ko kasi nahulaan niya ng walang kasalang magaganap. Isang palakpak ulit.

"Oh hi, Demie. Good morning." She greeted.

"Good morning din." Wika ko pabalik. "I heard from Carolyne that you were lost last night so you called her and she sent you here first. "

"Ah yeah, that's true. I called you but you were out of coverage. And also, Carolyne called you too." Aniya.

"Would you like us to go to the address that you have?"

"No thank you, I called Mandy, she said they will just pass me by here since they are on their way to work. So thank you na lang." The she delivered her tagalog word, may slang. MAY SLANG? I mean, y'ong Austrian accent niya kasi. "By the way, Carolyne told me that you were supposed to get married yesterday, but your groom didn't attend. Are you okay now?"

I nodded immediately. "Yeah, I'll be fine soon."

"You know what, just cheer. Maybe that guy is, really not for you. He's not the one who really fits your standard." She stated and I just nodded."I don't really know why other people stay in relationships for so long but in the end, they will break up too. I think it's a childish thing, right? No offense lang ha?"

I nodded, once again. Hindi naman ako na-offend may point naman kasi siya. Maybe I really rushed into a relationship. Crush lang naman kasi iyon noong nasa highschool kami, tapos biglang nag-bloom.

But starting today, I promise mag-mo-move-on na talaga ako.
