Demie's PoV

Pareho kaming nagpaalam ni Mayumi sa reception, siyempre hindi naman pwedeng humindi si Mandy dahil kapatid niya itong kasama ako, and besides nagsasayawan na lang sila doon with the guest.

Katulad ng sinabi ni Mayumi sa akin kanina, nasa buhangin kami at nagdala pa si Mayumi ng two bottles of wine. Medyo malayo kami sa reception kaya halos hindi namin dinig ang ingay doon.

May snacks ding dinala si Mayumi and also me para hindi kami magutom. Bonfire lang ang nagsisilbing ilaw sa amin ngayon.

"Oo nga pala, before I forgot. Shouldn't your parents be there earlier? Why did I see you lead your sister to the altar?" I asked.

"Yeah, my mother had a heart attack on their way here, so my father accompanied her to the hospital. That's why, I was the one who accompanied Mandy to walk down the aisle earlier." She responded.

She swirled her glass of wine and then drank its contents. I also imitated what she did. She laughed at what I did.

"How about you? Can I meet your parents?"

Napangiti ako sa tanong ni Mayumi. Ibinaba ko ang wine glass ko at saka tiningnan siya 'saka ako umiling.

"Wala na akong magulang." I synthetically smiled.

Ibinaba niya ang kaniyang wine glass. Tumayo siya 'saka lumapit sa akin. "They're dead?" Aniya. Hindi naman ako makapagsalita. "Sorry if I asked." She caressed my back.

Umiling muli ako. "What I mean is, since they kicked me out of the house, I don't recognize them as my parents anymore. That's why nasabi ko na, I don't have parents anymore."

"Why did they kick you out? Did you do something wrong?" She held my hands and caressed them.

I sobbed. "I didn't do anything. I am the victim, I am the one who helped. Then it's all my fault?" I told her.

"Why? What happened? I don't understand."

"It was Divina's birthday when it happened." I said and started reminiscing...

"Ate Divina, sasama ako, please. Hindi naman ako mangungulit sa inyo doon." The young me said.

"Ug nganong mouban ka nako? Nagtuo ka nga hamtong ka na?" She said that made me pout. "Ug usa pa, curfew karong panahona. Mahimong responsable ko nimo kung mawala ka."
