25th Beat: 3D (Triple Disaster)

The rain started to pour. Eunhye looked at her watch. It’s 11:00 pm now and the boys haven’t texted or called yet. Shine was walking back and forth towards the door.

“What happened to them?” Eunhye was really worried.

                Rhoyce is speechless. She’s been crying quietly. Suddenly, EUnhye’s phone rang…

“Hello?” she answered the phone.

                When the person on the other line spoke, EUnhye looked at both Shine & Rhoyce, then two girls noticed, her hand was shaking. The phone almost fell from her hand.

“Breaking News- 3D Brothers faces accident”, the TV anchor announced

                That late-night flash news came out as a surprise not just for the girls but for all the

                “Famous pop-rock band 3D Brothers encountered a fatal accident this evening, at 10:00 at the Northstar Avenue. Sources say that the car where 3D brothers were riding bumped into an over-speeding ten-wheeler truck. Police authorities have yet to investigate whether the 3D Brothers are drunk or the 10-wheeler truck driver. All of them suffered fatal injuries and are all unconscious.”

“Oh my!” Shine exclaimed.  Her knees felt weak upon seeing the images of Drake, Dylan and David. They are all lying on the stretcher, almost lifeless.

“Let’s go! Derrick said he is waiting for us at the hospital.” Eunhye stood up.

                So, it was Derrick who called her a while back. Derrick informed her about the boys’ accident.

Shine stood up to join Eunhye but Rhoyce was hesitant.

“Come on, Rhoyce! Stop sulking there! Dylan needs you!” Eunhye walked and forcefully let Rhoyce stood up. They all headed to the hospital.

“What the heck!” Janus said as he saw the news. He is preparing for another performance when the news flashed.

“Why, bro? What’s the problem?” Phoebus, who just came from the shower heard him.

“Dylan, David and Drake faced accident.” Janus answered.

                Phoebus was speechless. He felt like he’s partly responsible for this. Maybe Dylan found out his affair with Rhoyce?

                In the hospital, manager hyung contacted the girls so they can enter the hospital safely and quietly. Outside, there are many 3D fans and press people who are all waiting for the updates on the boys. They arrived at the boys’ room safely.

“How are they, Sir?” Shine asked Manager Hyung.

“They are unconscious. They suffered fatal injuries. It’s a miracle that they still managed to survive. Yet they are still under critical condition.” Manager answered.

                Rhoyce was not speaking. She’s blaming herself for what happened.

“Come on, Rhoyce, stop blaming yourself” Manager said as she pat Rhoyce’s back.

                Derrick nodded.

“It’s an accident. Nobody knew it would happen.” Derrick told Rhoyce.

                Just then, a rich-looking couple arrived. Manager Hyung approached them. They’re Dylan’s parents! They give respect to them. Suddenly, Mr.Choi spoke..

“Manager, I hope you will understand but I am planning to take Dylan back home as soon as he recovers.”

                Everyone is surprised with his announcement.

                Blast from the past.

                Dylan delivered a sincere yet intriguing acceptance speech about his parents (see 12th Beat: Blessings). This sparked rumors that his parents are against him, being in show business. The Choi clan is rich and famous and is respected by people. Appa Choi insists that Dylan focuses on business world but he tried to explain that he loves his career- acting, singing and being in 3D Brothers. Now that this accident occurred, Appa Choi thinks it’s time Dylan goes out of it.

                Manager Hyung tried to convince Appa Choi to change his mind and reconsider his decision. He is really sad. He had seen how Dylan worked hard for the group. He knows Dylan really loves being an artist. Appa Choi said he & his wife will think it over.

                Morning. 6 am. Another disaster is bound to happen.

“I am sorry but all the 3 boys officially fall into deep comatose.” The doctor revealed. It’s been almost 10 hours since the accident happened and neither of the boys regained consciousness.

“What do you mean doctor?” asked Manager.

“We’ve done the operation but still no response from them. They are now suffering in comatose stage. “the doctor replied.

“If they don’t wake up within 6 hours, I am sorry but it’s possible they will be comatose for a long time. “the doctor added.

                Everyone is now wishing for a miracle.  They are praying for the boys. This triple disaster is just a trial for them. The trending topics worldwide were #staystrong3D and #holdon3D.  Everyone kept praying that their dear boys recover SOON.

12 o’clock noon.  Manager Hyung left for a while.  Mrs. Lee, Mrs.Choi and Mrs. Cho,( the boys’ mothers, respectively), went to church for a while. The only persons there were Shine, Eunhye, Rhoyce & Derrick.  EUnhye was reading a book when suddenly, Drake’s hands slowly started to move… She immediately called the doctor.
