That instant, I found myself smiling like a three-year-old child who just got candies from her father. I landed on the ship's deck and hastily let Azim go. He stood there, staring at nothingness when I pushed him just enough to leave him out of balance and try to find it yet again. He flared at me. I flashed him with one sweet smile and a raised eyebrow before turning around. And I was greeted by people.
"Mika?" Three familiar voices said, thus, making me turn and look at the owner. I blinked at them when I manage to recognize them.
"What the heck?!" It's me and my favorite profanity. "What are you three doing here?" It was Angelica, Stephanie, and Jimmy, my friends from Earth. Just why on heaven are they- oh, I've seen Angelica here- but these two, what are they doing here? "What are you two doing here?" Both of them shrugged.
"The same full reason why you are here..." Jimmy answered. I raised and eyebrow at that. "Why are you here, even?" I glanced back to the group of people they just had on board and pursed my lips as I turned to look back at them. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Okay, let me introduce myself first." That was another deep breath. "In Xyntilliet, they know me as Mika, in Xynisther, they know me as Mielikky. With that group," I pointed at Azim's people whom they are comforting and slowly being asked to move to the second level of the ship. "I am Ashtryd,"
"Our Luna." Someone spoke the moment I was done.
"Oh, Salim? What are you doing here?" She smiled at me. "Shouldn't you be with the others?"
"Just want to make sure you are fine. And the last group that they rescued want to extend their gratitude."
"Tell them its fine. No hurry on and have a good nap!" I said in a very playful way and Samantha came to pick her up just to say the same things I did. I shrugged at their conversation and just let them be.
"So... their Luna?" that was a curious question from Stephanie herself. "What is that?" I blinked. How am I supposed to explain that? There was silence enveloped us for some time. It would have been a whole perfect silence if not for the wind and the voices around us. Angelica took a sigh.
"Allow me to explain."
"Please..." I need that help! I do not know, really, how to put it to words!
"Azim, or at least that's what our Mika call him, is an Alpha of a pack known as Flamma Tinebris or Dark Flame in English. A pack is a group of werewolves, humans that can shift and literally have a sentient wolf inside themselves, that is ruled by one person that is either assigned by the pack or through inheritance or birth. Luna's are considered their other half, their mates, a destined love assigned by their moon goddess or the one they considered their deity. A second person that will rule beside them when the time comes."
"Basically soulmates?" Step asked.
"Basically soulmates." Angelica confirmed.
"So you mean to say, our Mika over here had no choice in the matter?" Alexander intoned, appearing out of nowhere at all, Emerald by clinging by her side as they approach. Angelica turned to look at them and greeted them yet another good day.
"No, not really. It is still up to our Mika to accept or reject the love that was offered to her." She sigh. "Actually, it was up to the both of them to decide to accept or reject it. If they do not deem themselves or each other worthy, they could just drop the bomb and be gone from each other's life permanently."
"Of course, that would have hurt." I whispered.
"What do you mean?" Alexander asked. I smiled. However, it wasn't me who explained that.
