(Note: This is the last "fast-forward" chapter. Gosh, I had to write a later one before finishing this build-up, because suddenly I had quite a lot of ideas for stuff which just can't happen at this point. The process of writing is o̶b̶s̶e̶s̶s̶i̶v̶e̶-̶c̶o̶m̶p̶u̶l̶s̶i̶v̶e̶ fun. (: )

The fucking gold.

If Alicia  was already mad at Sergio and his friends for various reasons, finding out what he planned to steal multiplied that feeling at least fifty times.

A self-righteous, megalomaniac, arrogant son of a bitch! Just like his brother... with less sex-appeal.

And with this turn of events, her will to catch them, was not fuelled solely by personal reasons anymore. It was not just the passtime of a maniac, it was her serious duty now to stop these thieves. It was less fun from this persepctive, but the challenge still motivated her to skip lunch breaks, and consume such an amount of caffeine, that even her daughter in her belly could get  insomnia from it.

At least she was able to pull that off for a while, but after a long, and aimless chat with the cherished Professor, she started to feel dizzy, nauseaous, and almost unable to focus. She removed her earphones and closed her eyes.

"All right, that's it for today... There's nothing we can do for now. If something crazy happens call me, otherwise I want at least six hours of sleep because I've been up for almost 50 hours already. Who's been here for more than 24 hours can go home, but make sure you're always at least ten people here. Any questions? Nothing? Then I assume you'll be able to keep the front while I'm away." she smirked. "Nighty night!"

After she closed her apartment room's door behind herself, she kicked off her shoes, let down her hair, and threw herself down onto her bed. Her cat jumped up to her and licked her face. She stroked his neck. "What do you say, will I be able to deal with this? If it ends badly it will... stain my reputation... not like that would be immaculate, but at least it's cool..." she said pondering. "I don't want to fail this."

She was surprised when her phone started to ring. It was an unknown number once again. "Yes?" she replied as she sat up.

"You're on the wrong track."

The audacity! Just hearing Sergios's voice again made her blood pressure raise. "Stop calling me on my personal phone, damn it! Is it your intention to make it seem that I am involved with you?!"

"No. It absolutely isn't. Of course, you can never know for sure with people like us. It's a brilliant idea after all, inspector Sierra. Maybe it has crossed my mind too."

Alicia clenched her jaw. "Why are you saying that I am on the wrong track? You're after the gold, that's clear."

"Yeah, you got that right. But your next move will lead you in the wrong direction."

Alicia laughed. "Yeah, for sure... If I keep talking to you, you'll surely lead me astray. Why would you even warn me? That's counterprodutive, Professor."

"Because I'm nice. And I'll give you a hint, so that you can be clever and paint it as if you'd be heading for victory. Your PR is quite sad these days. You just have to do something for me as well."

No way! You stop right there! I won't be making deals with you! Alicia thought. But, wait... "What do you need?" she asked after a short while.

"Just you."

"Excuse me?!"

"In the tent. Not Tamayo. Not you and Tamayo. Just you. For one day. Can you make that happen?"
