"Are you sure we can trust her?" Marseille turned towards Sergio, while Alicia placed her daughter and their new baby-stuff into a car, determined to go and hunt down the stolen gold in that very moment.

Which is good. Sergio thought. They had just gotten back to the hangaar Sergio was using while coordinating the heist and every minute mattered. 'If' we can trust her... He followed the woman's movements with a pensive gaze. The thing was, that he wasn't sure whether they could trust her. It was one thing to feel like being in the same boat with her when they were stuck together in the middle of nowhere, but out in the open... that was a whole different territory.

"She is our best chance now." he replied to Marseille on a decided tone.

"I don't trust her." the other man said coldly. "She shot you!"

"She won't be alone."

"And you think that would stop her from stabbing us in the back?" the tall man asked with a grimace.

"No." Sergio said briefly. "But if she'd try to do so, it would lower the chances of it being a successful move."

Would it? Sergio maintained the image of the leader who has everything under control, but the truth was, that he had absolutely no idea what to expect. He, the man who liked to have every move pre-calculated and analysed in the light of any outcome, just placed the most important piece of his plan in the hands of the most chaotic and unpredictable person he ever had the chance to meet. From the corner of his eyes he saw that the other man was not convinced by his words at all. "She won't stab us in the back." he added with the same conviction in his voice as erlier.

Marseille shook his head. "Why can't I go and look for it?"

"Because we have plenty to do here."

"Oh, I am dispensable here..." the other man laughed. "You are the one who is not. But I-"

Sergio impatiently clenched his jaw. "All due respect, Jakov, but I think she's better at this than you. She found me. She almost had me!"

"Really?" Marseille pulled his lips. Sergio let his sarcastic remark pass without reacting to it in any way. The blonde man exhaled and shook his head. "Fine... If you think this is our best chance, I trust you about it."

"Thank you." Sergio nodded.

"What is the worst that can happen after all?" the other asked with a bitter smirk. "The gold ends up being stolen by a different ex of your brother's. Big deal..." he shrugged, then gave Alicia who was now approaching them another suspicious gaze .

"Would you give us a moment?" Sergio blinked at him.

Marseille raised his eyebrows. "Sure. I'll go and check the cameras." he patted Sergio's shoulder then walked away.

"All right, I am ready!" Alicia stopped in front of him, her ponytail brushing over her shoulder as she straightened her back, and tapped her thighs with her hands. "Wish me luck!" she pressed her lips into an exaggerated smile, but with an enthusiastic spark in her eyes. She seemed a bit nervous, but all in all, she looked a lot more reinvigorated compared to the day before.

"You could leave Victoria with us." Sergio said. "It would be a lot easier for you. We can-"

Alicia narrowed her eyes. "You don't trust me, do you? Are afraid that I might disappear with your gold on my own, am I right?" she looked at him with a bitter smirk.

"It's not my gold..." Sergio raised his glance being irritated.

Alicia rolled her eyes. "Gosh... You're so humble at times, that I can't even decide if it's stupid or heartwarming." she said ironically as she ran her fingers through her hair then tilted her head to the side as she looked at him. "But you'd want something to make sure that I will come back, right?" she asked sharply.
