The concert was loud, crowded, and at the beginning Sergio thought that he will not enjoy it at all. But maybe because of the couple of drinks he had, or maybe because the band started playing better songs as time passed, or just simply because Alicia's enthusiasm was contagious, he ended up partying like everyone else around him, and having a good time.
"Nah... this can't be the last song!" Alicia shouted when the band left the stage. "They should have ended with something more upbeat! Come on..."
"But it was..." Sergio blinked towards the empty stage. "They came back twice already."
"The upside of it is that we can go and sit down somewhere. My back has been hurting for the past half an hour already. Ouch..." she sighed.
"Let's go then." Sergio placed a hand around her waist and led her out of the crowd. She was wearing her forgotten green, floral-patterned dress she found a couple of days earlier. It fit her thightly, showcasing the curves of her body in a way in which Sergio was not used to see it.
Alicia spotted an empty table in the also crowded sitting area and hurried forward to occupy it.
"We were lucky, I guess." she smirked. "Could you get us a couple of more drinks, please?"
"Sure." he nodded.
Five minutes later he came back with the drinks and sat down by the small table.
"Gosh... I haven't been out since... quite some time." Alicia sighed. "This felt good. Thank you." she smiled at him, then took a sip from her drink.
"As I see... there is an afterparty starting soon. Would you like to stay?"
Alicia looked around. There were some people gathered in the middle of the place who already started to dance. She would have loved to join them.
"I... don't know." she said pensively. Coming to a concert with Sergio was one thing, but actually staying and partying with the guy felt like it would be something else. "Let's just... drink this first and we'll see how the vibe is." she shrugged.
She finished her drink, and went to grab another one.
At one point Sergio felt his phone vibrating.
"Wait, I have to get this."
He walked away to find a less noisy spot.
"I have them. Can we meet in the city somewhere?"
"Yeah. Great. Uhm..." Sergio scratched his head. "I'll send Marseille to go and get them for me. I am... busy right now. Thank you!"
"Who called?" Alicia asked when he got back to the table. "If it's not too personal of course." she added chuckling.
"Just Marseille. He asked for the wifi password. Victoria is asleep and he is bored." he smiled. "But it's all good, we can stay longer if you want to."
"Gosh, what am I even doing here?" she shook her head. "I should be with my daughter!"
"Your daughter is sleeping, and you're having a free evening, remember?"
"Yeah... I should be searching for places to stay at, my documents will arrive any day now, and I still haven't decided yet what house to buy and-"
"Alicia... you can't deal with any of that until you don't have new papers. And... I really hope that you know that when your documents arrive, it doesn't mean that you immediately have to move out. You can stay as long as you need." Or want.
"I'd just want to finally be able to stand on my own feet."
"You will. But there's no rush."
Alicia gave him a perplexed look. "And what about you? What are you even doing here? Shouldn't you be sunbathing on some remote island?"
