"ANGIE!" A FINGER SNAPPED in Angie's face. "Angela!"
Angie snapped awake, her head popping up as she blinked her eyes hard. "What? What?"
"You fell asleep!" Mina chided her friend, letting out a tsk. The two girls were sitting side by side in their Physics classroom, supposed to be studying for their upcoming midterm exams. But, if Angie's sleeping was any indication, they were not.
"Shit," Angie rubbed her eyes, covering her yawn with her hand. She dropped her head into her hands, rubbing her eyes hard. She hadn't even had the energy to put makeup on that morning, she'd been too tired from her late night. "I'm sorry, Mimi."
"Don't be, wasn't like I was working anyway." Mina shrugged, gesturing to the doodles on her paper.
Angie glanced up at their teacher, an old man with graying hair and glasses so thick his eyes seemed double the normal size. He was squinting down at some book, wrapped messily in the sleeve of some science book, which was very much not the same size. Angie could see the corner of the second book of 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before' peeking from the bottom. It was the same copy Angie had on her bookshelf at home.
"I don't think Mr. Cabrera noticed." Angie snickered. "He's too busy with Lara Jean and Peter."
Mina hid her giggles behind her ink stained hand. "Do you think he's team John Ambrose or team Peter?"
"He's not an idiot." Angie tutted, picking up a pen so she at least looked like she was being productive. "He's team Peter."
"Oh come on," Mina gave Angie a look. "you were giggling about John Ambrose the whole movie."
"Yeah, cause it's Jordan Fisher!" Angie held her hands in the air, shrugging her shoulders. "I'm team Peter for Lara Jean, but team John Ambrose for me."
Mina let out a gasp, holding a hand to her chest in fake shock. "Don't let your little boyfriend hear you say that!"
"He's not my boyfriend." Angie said. "Yet."
"Ooh, I see you girl!" Mina squealed, loud enough that Mr. Cabrera glanced up from his book, shooting them a squinty look. But only for a moment, his eyes dipping back down a second later. Apparently whatever Lara Jean was getting up to was more enthralling than making sure his students were on task. Mina quieted her voice when she spoke again. "So it's going well then?"
"Yeah." Angie said, propping her head on her hand as a flush spread across her face. "Really well. He's gonna come see me in Geneva over break."
Mina gasped, her eyes widening. Neither Ollie or Angie had mentioned that information to her. "Really?!"
"Yeah!" Angie giggled, still not truly believing it.
"Oh, I'm so excited for you!" Mina squealed, grabbing Angie's arm and shaking it around. "But I am offended you didn't tell me right away!"
"We talked about it like two weeks ago, but we only finalized it last night." Angie was quick to explain. "I didn't want to say anything in case I jinxed it."
"Is that why you've been so tired?" Mina raised her eyebrows, clocking her friend immediately. "Up on FaceTime with your man, planning your trip?"
"Maybe..." Angie said, coyly.
"Come on," Mina groaned. "I'm your best friend, and this is the only interesting thing happening in either of our lives. Give me the details!"
"We were up all night talking." Angie conceded, trying her hardest not to giggle too much. "You know, he said I'm the smartest, most beautiful person he's ever met."
