SAYING GOODBYE TO OLLIE at the Geneva airport had been tough for Angie. Nothing like your boyfriend leaving the day after he became your boyfriend. She'd ridden with Ollie to the airport early in the morning, waited in line with him while he dropped off his rental car, and walked with him as far as she could through the airport. It was by baggage check that they finally said goodbye.
The pair of them were both exhausted, having been up late the night before, having dinner with Angie's family and then hanging out in the living room, watching films, until Ollie had to go back to his hotel.
With a small yawn, Angie had hugged Ollie as tight as she could, burring her face in his shoulder as he reassured her that they would see each other soon. Before the F2 season began again. Angie had just nodded, fighting back her tears as she pulled away. She had gotten used to only speaking to Ollie over the phone, it was what they had done since they'd met, but the last two days of actually being with him had just shown her that it was completely not the same.
Angie knew the long distance thing was going to be hard, but she really liked Ollie. She was going to do it anyway. All the insecurity and tears that she knew were part of the territory of long distance relationships were worth it. For Ollie, they were worth it.
The only silver lining for Angie was, that even though Ollie was leaving, Mick and Laila would be arriving later that day, from their 'couple's trip' to Mallorca. They were only going to be in Geneva, seeing as they had to head to their own families for Christmas (Mick to his grandparents' place in Germany and Laila to her parents' place in Denmark), but Angie was excited to see them nonetheless.
There were few things in the world that Angie loved more than Christmas, it was her favorite holiday, by far. All the baking, and the movies, and the cozy feeling were right up her alley. She was ready to spend the rest of her winter break making gingerbread cookies, watching Love Actually over and over, calling her boyfriend, and not thinking about school or college acceptances or the painful reality of having a boyfriend in Italy for one second.
That was for her to worry about later.
