Chapter 7

Jame's POV
After a long sleepless night I got Tia's breakfast ready, before getting some stuff to take to hospital for Ara and Anabeth while Alex got a bag ready for Tia. I dropped Tia off at school before talking to her teacher to explain what was going on and that she'd be heading home with Ella and her Mom for a sleepover tonight, I kissed Tia on the head and said I'd see her tomorrow night.

I headed back out the car where Alex was sitting with a bag of shopping? "I walked to the corner store over there and got Mom and us some more snacks, I also thought she might like a book to read" I looked at him and smiled, his programmed traits had definitely been helpful over the past 24 hours. Once we got to hospital we headed to the room they had been in last night before a nurse stopped us and said they'd been moved to the children's ward as she was doing much better.

I thanked the nurse before we both headed off in search of the children's ward, we'd never had to set foot in there in the ten years we'd had Tia, after wandering around aimlessly we finally found the ward and asked a nurse where they were, she smiled before leading us into a room where Anabeth was sat with Ara in her arms, she now only had tubes coming from her and one cable which was a pulse and oxygen monitor attached to her ankle.

"There's my two beautiful ladies" Anabeth turned and smiled at me before looking confused "where's Tia?" Before I could explain Alex said we'd taken her to school this morning, that's when I jumped in before Anabeth could say anything "after seeing what she looked like last night I didn't want Tia to see her like that, so I sent her to school and tonight she'll be staying with Ella and her Mom as I thought it would give time for Ara to not need all the cables"

Anabeth looked at me shocked before nodding her head before smiling as she in latched Ara "James could you pass me some cleaning supplies please" I headed over to the cabinet and got the stuff we'd need before turning around and placing the mat down, Anabeth laid Ara down before carefully undoing her onesie and diaper, that's when a nurse walked in with a Doctor "ah perfect timing, let's have a look at how her wound is doing and change the dressing"

The Doctor stood over Ara and tried to undo the dressing while she fussed and cried, after a long battle he finally got the dressing off, that's when I saw the wound, I couldn't help but cry a little and Alex seemed to notice as he gave me a hug, once the Doctor had checked the wound the nurse applied some lotion and a new dressing before leaving. Anabeth finished getting Ara changed into a clean diaper before doing her onesie back up and handing her to me.

Once she was in my arms she calmed down a bit, then I heard Alex talking "oh I bought us snacks this morning, but I also bought you a book to read in case you got bored" Anabeth looked at him shocked before smiling and hugging him.

Tia's POV
Dad told me that I was going home with Ella today after school, he said he didn't want me to see Ara in case it upset me, but I didn't know why seeing her would make me sad? I spent most of the day trying to figure out what he meant, eventually it was home time so me and Ella waited for her Mom to arrive, once she turned up we got in the car and started driving to theirs.

On the way over there her Mom asked me if I was okay as was being super quiet "no~ Dad said he wouldn't let me see Ara in case it upset me, but I don't know what he means!" I couldn't help but cry as Ella hugged me, her Mom sighed before saying she'd explain once we got back to theirs, after a little while longer we arrived at Ella's and got our stuff out of the car and headed inside.

Ella's Mom told us to get changed into comfy clothes first before she explains what Dad meant, once we got back downstairs her Mom told us both to sit down before she explained "when little Babies get Really Sick they need lots of machines and medicines, which means there's lots of wires and tubes, it's a scary enough sight for an adult to see let alone a child, that's what your Dad meant when he said he didn't want you to be upset by the sight of all the cables and tubes"

I looked at her shocked before bursting into tears, both Ella and her Mom hugged me tightly as I cried "it's okay Tia, you're Dad said she's doing a lot better and that he'd take you to see her tomorrow after school" I nodded my head between tears as her Mom spoke again "how about we make pizza and popcorn and watch a movie while having a spa night?" Me and Ella looked at each other as we squealed in excitement.

We chose what film we wanted to watch and decided on what toppings we wanted on our pizza's, before going to choose what nail colours we wanted, once we got everything we could possibly think of, we grabbed the food and started our movie.
