Chapter 8

James's POV
We spent all day yesterday in the hospital with Anabeth and Ara and did the same again today before leaving early to go get Tia from school Anya, Ella's Mom had said she'd had to explain to Tia why she hadn't been able to come see Ara sooner as she'd gotten quite upset by my simple explanation, once me and Alex arrived at her school Tia came running towards us before jumping into Alex's arms.

Once we were in the car she talked about how she'd made a get well soon card for Ara and that everybody in her class signed it, she then proceeded to tell us all about her sleepover before asking if Ara was still covered in wires and stuff "no she's not, she's got some tubes still and one cable but that's it" Tia nodded her head before going back to talking about everything she'd done in school for the past two days.

Once we got to the hospital I could hear Ara screaming her lungs out, so I told Tia and Alex to wait outside while I found out why, once I opened the door I saw a nurse had drawn bloods while another changed her dressings, once that was all done I told Alex and Tia to come inside even though Ara was still crying. Tia proudly showed her card to Anabeth while I tried to calm Ara down.

Anabeth's POV
I hugged Tia as I talked to her so that she'd hear me speak "Oh wow that's a pretty card you've made for her, and I'm sure she'd love it too" Tia smiled before looking over towards Ara concerned "is she still really ill?" I looked at Tia a bit shocked before speaking "no she just doesn't like it when the doctors changes the dressing on her wounds which they did today along with talking a blood sample to see if she can come home soon or not"

Tia looked at me and smiled "I hope she can come home soon, I miss both of you" I couldn't help but cry a little as I hugged Tia, I missed being at home too, but most of all I missed the happy healthy little baby we had, after a while James gave up trying to calm Ara and let Alex try, but yet again it just seemed to make her worse, so Tia tried but nothing.

I picked Ara up from Tia and brought her towards my chest... and finally there was silence in the room, both Tia and Alex looked away blushing which made me and James laugh, halfway through feeding Ara fell asleep in my arms so I carefully placed her down in the crib next to the bed before doing my shirt back up. There was a knock at the door before another Doctor walked in, typical I just got her to sleep.

"Mr & Mrs Langley, I've got some good news for you, it seems the operation was a success, and she's responded magnificently well to the medication and fluids, so im more than happy to discharge her tomorrow morning after one final dressing change, before you head home, you'll be given a small care package and care instructions for the area with the wound and the contact information for a district nurse to come and check the wound until it's fully healed"

I thanked the doctor before they left and looked at everybody silently cheering so as not to wake Ara up. Soon enough it was time for everyone to head home, I kissed everyone goodbye before saying see them all tomorrow.

James's POV
Once we got home I cooked the three of us some food while Tia unpacked her bags and got everything ready for school tomorrow, once we ate we all got ready for bed and fell asleep. I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off, I got up, washed and dressed before going to make breakfast only to find Alex had already done that, I thanked him before sitting down to eat while searching the internet for an answer to my question, after a while Tia came downstairs and had breakfast.

Once she finished we all headed towards the car and driving off to Tia's school, I wished her a good day before setting off to the hospital to bring Anabeth and Ara home, we arrived just in time as the doctors and nurses were just removing all the tubes and needles and changing her dressing. Alex took Anabeth and Ara's hospital bag out to the car but leaving Ara's diaper bag for one last change, once she had a clean dressing on Anabeth put Ara in a clean diaper before feeding her to get her to sleep.

Once she was asleep she strapped her into the car seat, a nurse handed us a bag with things we'd need and the care instructions for her wound before telling us we could now leave, we headed out to the car where Alex was waiting smiling, we got in and headed back home, once there we placed Ara in the bassinet in the living room while I sat on the sofa hugging Anabeth.

Alex sat down on the armchair, before we looked for something to watch, I decided to tell them both what I'd been looking up this morning "I'd decided that as Tia had friend and we had friends, it would be nice if you could also find friends, I found a weekly group where older siblings meet up to have fun and make new friends, I thought that would be good for you" Alex looked at me shocked as he thought about it before nodding his head, so I told him it was tomorrow and that it was within walking distance, he nodded his head and said he'd like to go
