Chapter 6

Mamas POV

Ara was feeling jealous that others were getting her attention, before long she'll not want to be apart from me which means the milk is working, she won't even think twice about wetting or messing herself it will be normal for her, don't get me wrong she was the perfect baby, it's just she wasn't confident when it came to messing herself in front of others.

But the more she drinks my milk the more she'll loose control and the more needy she'll become, I looked down at her as she was nearly in tears, before smiling at her as I picked her up, "why don't you two follow me outside, I have a wonderful surprise!" They both nodded their heads while Tia carried on talking to Alex about her day, I told her to close her eyes as Alex led her outside, once out there I told her to open them "wow when did we get these?"

I couldn't help but laugh as I explained we upgraded this morning before she'd left for school, she looked at me shocked "how come I didn't notice?" I laughed before explaining she'd even walked downstairs from her bedroom, she turned around and looked at the house to realise it was bigger and was now three stories instead of two, the third floor of the house was now the attic which had previously been on the second floor.

Tia shook her head in disbelief before turning back around at the toys in the garden before spotting the trampoline and dragging Alex behind her to play, I could help but laugh, but that's when I noticed Ara was now fully crying, I tried calming her but she wouldn't, she didn't need a change, she didn't want to feed and didn't have wind, and I couldn't even read her mind this time.

Her crying seemed to grab both Tia's and Alex's attention as the had both stopped playing and had come over to find out what was wrong, Tia tried to calm her but it didn't work, Alex tried but that made her cry more, that's when James arrived home and came running outside with a health scanner? He scanned her before running back inside, Alex followed him before he came running back out "Tia go get a bag of stuff to keep yourself busy, it seems Ara is sick"

Both me and Tia looked shocked before we both headed inside, Alex held Ara while I got a hospital bag for me, once everybody got everything we all got into the car as I held onto Ara as we rushed to hospital, once there we rushed to the emergency unit where James showed them the information from the health scanner, immediately we were rushed to a private room where a large group of nurses came rushing in and seeing to Ara.

She seemed even smaller than she usually did as she was swarmed by nurses and now doctors, we were asked to wait outside where James was currently dragging me despite my protest, we were led to a small waiting room, time seemed to be dragging along, before eventually a nurse appeared at the door "we've had to take her into theatre where she'll be for a while as she's so small we'll need to be extra careful with the procedure, once she's in recovery I'll let you know" I looked at her shocked before Alex got up and asked the nurse to talk outside.

After a while he came back in before making sure Tia had fallen asleep "I asked the nurse the reason for the operation, she said just like us humans have reproductive organs, but Ara's hers wasn't healthy and that's what had suddenly caused her so much pain, so the operation they're doing will remove the organs completely and thus removing the issue, it seems from notes they had, she had previously complained of the issue on earth but had been ignored"

I looked at Alex shocked before wondering what else she'd tried telling people on earth that they'd ignored James seemed to notice before speaking "I'll phone the doctors tomorrow for a copy, as we might need to make a note for future illnesses, and the potential to fix other issues she's had ignored, I've also told work I'll need a few days off"
I nodded my head as Alex hugged me "it'll be okay Mom, I'm sure of it"

James's POV
After two hours Tia woke up so Alex took her to go find us all something to eat which gave me some time to comfort Anabeth, after a whole lot of crying Alex and Tia came bag with sandwiches, drinks and other snacks, we sat there and ate our food, we'd been here for nearly 5 hours.

After a while there was a knock at the door before a doctor walked in "the operation went well, and she's responding positively to medication, I'm not gonna sugar coat it, she's covered in wires and tubes which can be a frightful sight, but you can now go see her" I nodded my head before thanking the doctor, once he left Alex spoke "I can either go first and see how bad it is if you want or I'll stay here with Tia until you decide if you think you want her to see Ara like that"

I thought for a bit before telling him to wait here with Tia before grabbing ahold of Anabeth's hand as we headed out the door and towards the room. Once we walked in and saw just how many wires and tubes there were we both broke down, there was a nurse standing there checking things before turning to look at us " I know it looks bad, but it's just because she's so small, there's a bed there for one of you to stay with her, but unfortunately it's only one of you that can stay"

I looked at Anabeth, but before I could even speak she'd already declared she'd be the one to stay with her tonight, I agreed before spending sometime looking at Ara laying in the incubator, she really did look like our tiny baby, I sighed before kissing Anabeth good night and telling her I'd return first thing in the morning, I headed back to the waiting room where Alex was waiting with Tia "can we see her?"

I looked shocked at Tia before shaking my head "not tonight, we need to go home as you've got school tomorrow, you're Mom is staying here with Ara though so Alex if there's any snacks left go drop them off for her before meeting us out at the car" he nodded his head before taking a bag and disappearing as I carried Tia to the car.
