Rest

The afternoon light poured in from the two windows and made the cabin. There were piles of furs in each corner and a fireplace that held a pot of something that smelled amazing.

"Elk soup." My father also known as Gregor handed me a bowl of the soup he had been cooking. "It was your favorite." A sad smile touched his lips.

"It's still my favorite." I whispered.

I was not only Luna but Magdelena as well. I may have more versions of myself but they were all me. I didn't feel unattached to any of my other self. I feel as if I have been alive for a very long time and now I am tired.

Gregor had raised Luna with care and love. He taught her everything she knew, he taught her how to hunt as well as how to cook and he taught her everything she needed to know to survive in the wild. Self defense was also apart of her training.

I made my way to the field outside and sat in the long grass. Brushing my hand along the soft grass, I laid down. The sky was similar to my world. The clouds hung in the sky and slowly made their way to the mountains.

I thought about the three woman after I had died, They told me I was cursed and I had memories of my past life. I might need to learn more about myself in this life to uncover this secret that is my fate.

"None of this makes sense." I sat up and looked down at the valley. I stood and glared at the sky.

"Why can't you just tell me what this all means!" I shoved my middle finger in the air. "Is this some kind of game to you!" I screamed and stomped the ground. "Find my family?!" I groaned and fell back down. "I don't even know where to start."

"Start simple." Gregor walked up and sat next to me. "Tell me what happened to you."

I told Gregor everything, about my world and my family and how I had died. I explained that I was cursed and about the three women I had met after I had died. He sat in silence for a long time, staring at the sky as the sun began to dip behind the mountains.

"I want you to understand this world is a lot more complicated then the one you come from." He stood and brushed he pants off. "This curse of your sounds like something from this world." He glared and held out a hand.

"What do you mean?" I grabbed his hand and stood.

"This world has the power to heal and inflict curses like the one you spoke of. Curses have long since been banned, yet they did exist." Gregor led me back to the cabin. He grabbed a bag and slung it over his shoulder. "After hearing your story. I am going to ask some people in the city for answers." He turned before leaving and gave me a smile.

"Thank you." I watched him leave.

I looked around the cabin and noticed carved horses littering the mantel above the fireplace. Walking over I ran my fingers along the mane of the largest carving.
The memories this conjured felt nostalgic. I waited for a peirceing pain that didn't come.
I rubbed my forehead. It seems the longer I spend in this body the easier recalling her memories will be. It's getting to the point that where the line between Luna and Magdelena is beginning to blur.

I watched the sun finish setting and watched as night took over the sky. I don't know how long I watched the strange constellations, until my eyes grew heavy and made my way to the pile of blankets that accounts for a bed.
I let sleep take me.
