"Get out of that thing, you're going to make a bad impression." I say as my father rolls down the halls in a sleeping bag looking more tired than ever, "Whatever you weirdo."
"I could care less what you or any other student thinks." My father said as I scoffed, "I still can't believe you got in on recommendation."
"It's not that impossible to think." I huff in annoyance as I fold my arms, "I'm powerful and have a decent handle on my quirk, you're just a bum."
My father rolls his eyes as we finally get to the classroom. Class 1A. These were the people I would be spending most of my time with, the people I would be training with. And the first thing I see makes me question coming to this school.
I was one of the five people that got in on recommendation so I noticed two people in the class from my exams. Shoto Todoroki who was seriously just a cutie despite his emotionless demeanor. And then Momo Yaoyorozu, the girl that I ended up teaming up with because my quirk wasn't the best with getting me through the course. But my attention was drawn away from them and to what was in front of me in the doorway.
There was a boy, his face incredibly red and a cute girl who just seemed way too excited to even notice his reaction, "I wonder what our teachers are like. I can't wait to meet everybody."
"You don't want to know." I mumble and slide past as my father catches attention from his sleeping bag.
"If you're just here to make friends then you can pack up your stuff now. Welcome to UA's hero course." My father said as he stood up and got out of his sleeping bag, "It took you eight seconds before you all shut up. That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that. Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa. Your teacher. Right let's get to it."
I smile and hold out a bag of gym uniforms that my dad made me carry so he could roll around, "Put these on and get ready to head outside!" I smile brightly.
Once everyone had been changed into their gym outfits and went outside. I stood next to Todoroki and smiled at him, he seemed interesting. I thought that ever sense our exam. He was quiet but he talked to me for a few seconds. He was cute in a totally emotionless sort of way.
"What? A quirk assessment test?" Half of the students asked shocked but I wasn't, I lived with the dude I went through most of these things on the regular.
"But orientation! We're gonna miss it!" The girl I learned to be named Ochacho Uraraka said, she was the girl that was extremely excited from earlier.
"If you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies." My father said causing a few of the students to gasp as I got excited, I was so used to these assessment tests that they were the easiest thing for me to do.
So I knew I was already at a high advantage.
"Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit." My father explained and then there were more gasps, "You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives. But you never got to use your Quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day, the Ministry of Education with learn. Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in Junior High?"
"Sixty-seven meters, I think." Katsuki Bakugo replied and I stand on my tip toes to get a good look at someone who could be powerful in our class.
Obviously Shoto, Momo, and I were powerful, we all made it in on recommendation. But that of course doesn't mean that there can't be someone else in our class that was powerful that didn't get in on recommendation. I mean I'm sure the only reason I got in was because my father was a teacher and all. Momo is like filthy rich, and well Shoto is the son of Endeavor so makes sense.
"Right. Try doing it with your Quirk." My father said and Bakugo got in the circle with the softball, "Anything goes, just stay in the circle. Go on. You're wasting our time."
"Alright man, you asked for it." Bakugo said stretching his arms and I watch excitedly, I'm so excited to see how everyone's quirks work, "Die!"
I watch as he throws the softball with insane power with puffs of circle smoke and fire following after it. It was amazing and intense. I couldn't help but wonder what his quirk was.
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities." My dad said before holding out Bakugo's score, "It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero."
The class gasped at the sight that his score was 705 meters, it was insane.
"Whoa, 705 meters, are you kidding me?" A boy asked and I recognize him from when I was going through my dad's transcripts, Denki Kaminari.
"I wanna go! That looks like fun!" That would be Mina Ashido.
"This is what I'm talkin' about, usin' our quirks as much as we want!" That's Hanta Sero.
"So this looks fun, huh?" My father asked and I giggled, everyone was going to realize it wasn't as fun as it looked, "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and play time? Idiots. Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately. Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs. Understand? If that's a problem, you can head home right now."
"Don't lift your hair like that, it's creepy." I mumble and my father looks over at me.
"Shut up." My dad said and I gasp, despite his personality he's a good dad and he doesn't treat me like what most people would think, hes an amazing dad.
"You shut up!" I hiss and the students fell silent completely confused, "Oh don't worry, he's my dad."
The topic was moved past fast as Uraraka stepped up, "You can't send one of us home! I mean, we just got here! Even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair."
"Oh and you think natural disasters are? Or power hungry villains? Hmm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No, the world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try to combat that unfairness. If you wanna be a pro, you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible hardship after another at you. So go beyond. Plus ultra style. Show me it's no mistake that you're here."
