In Hyeok barely waited to light a cigarette as he walked out of LAX. He stood there, covering the tip for a second as the wind picked up. The lighter flickered but lit the end of the cigarette. He inhaled deeply, removing the cigarette from his lips. He looked forward, watching everyone starting to grab cabs and meeting up with their families. The smoke from the cigarette was blown out of his mouth.

The sun was beating down on In Hyeok.

Reaching into the pocket of his duffle that was on his shoulder, he pulled out the address of his grandparents' place. In Hyeok already knew that his grandparents were most likely out with their friends for the morning, but that didn't mean shit.

In Hyeok walked down to a cab that was waiting for a passenger. He hid the cigarette behind his back, "You a smoking cab?" In Hyeok asked.

"Sure is, man."

In Hyeok passed the address over to the cab driver. "Can you drive me to that address?" He asked. In Hyeok was a little out of his element, having only been to the United States three times in his life. And every time, his grandfather picked him and Eun Chae up from the airport.

The cab driver looked at the address. "Sure can, man." In Hyeok noticed the smell in the cab, but at the moment, he didn't have much of a choice. In Hyeok climbed into the back of the cab, dropping his bag next to him. The cab driver pulled away from the airport. "You here for school or somethin'?"

"Visiting my grandparents."

"You Asian?"

In Hyeok inhaled deeply, looking out the window. "Yes."

"Your English is better than mine." He commented with a laugh. In Hyeok suspected that the driver was high.

"It better be," In Hyeok took a long drag on the cigarette. "I went to an international school." In Hyeok blew the smoke out of the window. In Hyeok casually answered the questions of the chatty, high cab driver. In Hyeok could already tell he was going to be okay in Los Angeles, California. If he could deal with a high cab driver, he'd be able to handle the rest of Los Angeles.

The drive was over an hour with traffic involved. In Hyeok occupied himself with his lighter from time-to-time. In Hyeok paid the cab driver a little extra for being a chill guy, both physically and mentally. The driver seemed to not realize the extra cash In Hyeok gave him, he drove away with a smile on his face and a dopey look on his face.

In Hyeok shifted the weight of the bag on his shoulder before heading towards the house. A few of his grandparents' neighbors were out, playing in the front yards with their kids and grandkids. He could see that the garage was open, and he heard the radio playing from the classic Impala that his grandfather drove around Los Angeles. As In Hyeok got closer, he could hear his grandfather singing to himself as he worked under the hood of the Impala. "Halabeoji." In Hyeok called out. In Hyeok noticed right away that In Seong was focused on what was wrong with the Impala than his name being called. "Halabeoji." In Hyeok called out one more time.
