The four names repeated in Damien's head as he pulled up to the party. He had a brand-new car, courtesy of Braga himself. Damien didn't tell Braga why he needed a new car, he just said he needed one. Braga handed him the keys to a new car – but that didn't stop Damien from questioning what Braga was up to with his employees. However, right now, Damien had to focus on the task at hand.
Tonight was the big race to pick their fourth. And Damien had to deal with two things.
One: Dominic Toretto had arrived.
Two: Brian O'Conner was also interested in the fourth spot.
Damien had to lie to one of their faces and be cocky to the other. He was curious how tonight would go ultimately. Damien heard all about Toretto and how fast of a racer he was but then there was O'Conner, he and Damien "bonded" over cars and racing. Damien knew that O'Conner could race, when Damien picked his car that ultimately won him the driver position, O'Conner took it for a spin. Damien knew tonight's race would be a close call – and for the sake of his own life, Damien hoped – prayed – that Dominic Toretto won the fourth position.
Damien pulled forward, avoiding hitting anyone who walked in front of him. He climbed out of the car as two of the bodyguards approached. Damien had the tablet in hand before passing the keys over to one of the bodyguards. He walked off with two others. Damien had a real presence about him when he worked for Braga, it wasn't too different from his normal self, however when he walked, people stopped and stared.
Damien got it all the time when he started working for Braga. It was something he had to get used to, but now, Damien accepted his fate.
The names were still running through his head, repeating O'Conner and Toretto's names. Damien knew that Braga didn't know much about them, even with the full workups. Damien would admit that he did omit things that he knew Braga would find... interesting.
He was dressed more official than everyone else around him. For nights like tonight, Damien always dressed a certain way – he wanted to come off as threatening.
Damien walked through the crowd and cars, seeing familiar faces. He didn't give any of them the time of day. Damien had one job to do, and that was to help find out who would be their fourth. He gathered two of the guys who were auditioning tonight. They followed Damien as he made his way to O'Conner. "Problem here?" Damien called out, stopping right next to Brian.
Dwight fell silent the instant he saw Damien. "No."
"Good." Damien didn't want to deal with Dwight's cockiness tonight. He turned to Brian who was giving Dwight a smile upon seeing him get his ass handed to him. "You Park's guy, right? One of 'em?" Damien asked, pretending he had no idea who Brian O'Conner was.
