I ran, with Zach close behind me. We laughed so hard that we almost couldn't run straight. We stopped behind a truck close to where the others were.
"Here's your order, princess" Zach gave me the snacks with a grin on his face.
"You've really gone all soft, it's cute" I grabbed the bags and chuckled a little. He shook his head and hit me lightly.
"Hey Zach we're leaving, did you get the stuff?" Aria shouted while looking at the both of us. I've talked to her a few times here and there and she's nice, what I know she is together with the lifeguard at the country club. She is also working there so yeah, she's nice. Aria was also the first older girl that I ever could talk to about things. Now, Kie is always there but this was before we got to know her.
"Yeah, I got them" Zach replied.
"Well, I better get back but I'll see you around yeah?" I smiled
"Yeah bet" he smiled at me.
I smiled back and started to walk back towards my stupid brother and his friends.
"Hey guys" I said "You filled the tank?"
"Yeah" John b said.
I threw some of my snacks to them and sat down besides Kiara. She nudged my shoulder and grinned, I furrowed my brows at her.
"So?" She asked and looked between me and where she saw me and Zach. "What was that?"
"What was what?"
"You and Aria's little brother" she wiggled her eyebrows.
"Kie, seriously? We're just friends for god's sake" I rolled my eyes.
"Hmm sure" she said.
"Stop! We are just friends, like you and those asshats" I pointed to the boys and she rolled her eyes. They all looked at us with a questionable expression.
"What are you talking about?" Pope asked.
"Lille's new boyfriend" Kie grinned. I mentally killed her right there and then, she has seen the protective side of JJ and she still decides to play with fire.
JJ and John b's eyes widened. "Boyfriend?!" They said in unison.
"Kie!" I scolded her
"B? What's she talking about?" My brother asked me with a stern expression. "What's going on?"
I let out a sigh.
"Nothing alright, me and Zach are just friends, FRIENDS okay!" I dragged my hands through my hair.
"Friends? Yeah, I've heard that before" He muttered.
"Stop being so fucking protective! Him and I have been friends for years JJ, you've just been too busy to notice!" I snapped.
"For years?" He laughed and looked between the others, all of them had a hard look on their faces except Kie, who looked guilty, like she should for causing this.
"It's not that big of a deal!"
"Uhm yeah kinda! I know what a teenage boy's intentions are!" He raised his hand to drag through his hair.
"Yeah, cause you are one J! I'm not fucking him, I'm not like you"
"Okay stop right there, I'm trying too look out for you B"
"Can you please just stop standing there and help me?" I looked at Jb, Pope and Kie.
"JJ, let it go. Y'know Lillie is a good kid" Pope said and I gave him a thankful look.
