TWO GIRLS SPRAWLED across the dirty wooden floor of the dance studio in their hometown. The older one stayed there for ten minutes, only sitting up to drink some water, as the younger got up and tried to motivate her best-friend to keep it up.

"Come on, ah-Yuqi! We need to keep practicing. Our auditions are only a month away." The girl with long black hair said as she grumbled after, trying to pick up the girl who lay on the floor, "And the floor is dirty." As she finally got the older girl to stand on her own two feet, she dusted her off with her hands.

Yuqi huffed, crossed her arms and placed her head against the wall infront of her, "We've been practicing non-stop for hours, ah-Jing." The older girl looks at Haojing, pouting as her brows furrow slightly, "I'm tired. Can't we just continue tomorrow?"

Haojing looks at her sympathetically, unable to resist the puppy face that the older girl gives her. She stares at her, contemplating it, "Fine. We'll continue tomorrow after school." She crosses her arms as she purses her lips, a little annoyed that they had to cut practice early.

However, Yuqi's eyes lit up as her head lifted itself off of the wall. She quickly jogged up to her best-friend, tackling her in an extremely tight hug.

"Ah-Yuqi!" The younger girl exclaimed as they both almost stumbled over.

Haojing breaks the hug with a small chuckle. Yuqi smiles brightly, shaking her friend violently, "You're the best, Laoban!" She winks at her playfully as she grabs her bag from the floor next to the studio mirror.

Haojing scoffs at her as she follows suit, "You're so annoying." She sighs, walking after her, shutting off the light, then closing the door behind them.

As they walk home, they don't forget to get something to eat first. It's about nine o'clock, after dinner time. Luckily, her parents know that she's out practicing with Yuqi. There was a time where they used to be extremely protective of their only daughter, but they've loosened up a little over the years.

"Finish your food, ah-Yuqi." The younger girl says sternly at the girl infront of her. Yuqi huffs and continues eating.

Although the raven-haired girl is consistently telling her best-friend off, behaving like her parent, she thinks it pays off. Whenever the girl huffs and pouts, refusing to look at her as she obeys the obvious order she receives from the younger, Haojing finds it exceedingly cute.

Sometimes, she ticks her off on purpose just so she can get a small glance at her adorable irritated puppy-like face.

She'll never let that secret out, of course, but she knows why she does it.

Which is also another secret she'll never let out. Not even to the said girl. She swore upon it.

Perhaps you're smart enough to figure it out yourself, reader?

The raven-haired girl smiles as the puppy infront of her finishes her food, patting her cheeks lightly, "Good girl! Finishing all your food like a big girl." She snickers as the now annoyed Yuqi slaps her hands away from her face, "Shut up, Shagua."

Alot of their days throughout the next month of April and May continue similarly. They go to school and work hard (mainly Haojing), practice for their auditions at the end of May, eat then head home. It's quite simple, but they never forget to treasure these days of complete freedom.
