THREE AND A HALF WEEKS flew by. Not fast, nor slow; Just... Normally. Either way, Yuqi was very excited and it was clear in the way that she smiled and in the way that she bounced as she walked.
(G)I-DLE had just wrapped up their promotions for "Hwaa" and their fourth mini album "I Burn". To celebrate, the girls went out for dinner. The girls, except Shuhua (sort of... shh), also had a little to drink. They were allowed since they didn't have a schedule the next day.
Afterwards, it was a little difficult in getting Yuqi to leave the bar. Soyeon and Miyeon had grabbed her by both arms and was forced to drag her out.
"I'm not drunk!" Yuqi yelled as she slumped into her chair inside the black SUV.
"Of course, of course..." Minnie pat her on the shoulder, "We know... You're drunk, and that's okay!" The pair bickered for a little while as the SUV set off for their dorms.
Eventually, when the members were in their respective rooms, Yuqi had passed out. After drinking some water, of course. Her caring members made sure she did.
It wasn't late. It was only about nine o'clock when she got some sleep. When she woke up the next morning, at seven am, her whole head felt like it was about to explode.
She groaned as she forced herself to sit up. She checked her phone for the time and date, grimacing when the bright screen flashed in her eyes.
"Oh, it's Saturday." She mumbled as she stretched. Today was a day that she had been looking forward to throughout the past month.
Just a month ago, she had met up with her old best friend from China. Turns out that the two girls had both achieved their dreams of becoming successful K-Pop idols.
It had been about five years since they had last seen eachother in real life. Or spoken at all. The thing is, they forgot to exchange contact details when they moved to South Korea when they were sixteen. And whatever they did to attempt to get in contact, it just didn't work out.
So when Yuqi found out that Haojing would be debuting as a member of aespa, she almost shed tears.
Back at the music show, where they met for the first time in years, it, at first, seemed like Haojing didn't recognise her.
She had used formal speech and a fake, yet a tad disorientated, smile while talking to her at the end of their interview and it left Yuqi a little confused and conflicted.
She wondered if it was because she genuinely didn't recognise her, or if it was because she forgot about her. Or perhaps it was because she wanted to forget about her.
Either way, it hurt a little. Yuqi and Haojing had been attatched by the hip since they were young. They had worked hard together for years so that they could end up where they did.
When they talked and sat by the stairs at the music show, it was emotional. Yuqi did cry, for real.
How could she not when Haojing always popped up in her thoughts every so often ever since they parted ways?
Every time she saw anything to do with the Sanrio character Keroppi, she would think of her. It was, and still is, a popular character, but the girl loved it so much that it made Yuqi think about her.
How could she not cry when they spent every single day together for years?
How could she not when their friendship and love was always held so close to her heart?
... Ahem.
Anyways...
Yuqi had finally went for a shower, taken some medication for her hangover, and had eaten breakfast by eleven o'clock.
She was meeting Haojing at one pm, at a secluded space in a park. They were going to have a chill picnic.
They were each going to bring some food, drinks and some kind of activity to do. The pair were now twenty one year olds, but that didn't stop them from having a bit of fun.
Yuqi decided to keep it simple and brought her favourite foods of recent. She brought small blank canvases and coloured paints to have fun with, too.
She was ready to leave, so she said bye to her members quickly. But before she could actually get out the door, Minnie and Soyeon asked her where she was headed. And without any guards, for that matter.
"Uh... Just getting some coffee." Yuqi nodded and pursed her lips as she thought it was a good cover up.
Soyeon nodded in understanding, "Ah... I see." She narrowed her eyes, "Nice try, Yuqi-ah. But i know you don't like coffee."
Yuqi freezed. Woops... "Right. Um, it's not for me, it's for Miyeon-unnie."
"Last time i checked, Miyeon only drinks hot chocolate, fruit juice and soju." Minnie states, staring at her member with a suspicious look.
Yuqi brought her hand to her head and sighed. She looked up at her members, a little irritated, "Fine, i'm going out with Haojing. Is that what you want to hear?"
Minnie smiled, "I knew it. It's a date isn't it?"
Soyeon laughed, "We knew you were lying. Coulda just told us, you know?"
"Okay, first of all, it's not a date. Well, not that kind of date. And secondly, i felt like you guys were going to tease me so i decided to not tell you." Yuqi explained, leaning towards the door to signal that she was about to leave.
"It's definitely a date!" Minnie shouted as Yuqi started walking out of the dorm.
"Goodbye! You're annoying as hell!" Yuqi yelled back, down the corridor.
She sighed as she begun heading towards the park that they decided to meet at.
She was nervous.
