06. Hwaa ⊹˚₊

THE MEMBERS OF (G)I-DLE sat in the livingroom of Shuhua, Soojin and Miyeon's dorm, eating dinner and watching a tv show. Minnie picked up a phone, which vibrated in her hand, "Woogi-ah, someone texted you. Unknown number." She said as she handed her the phone, taking a bite of her food.

Yuqi raised an eyebrow as she took the phone from her members' hand. As she opened her phone, she just stared at the screen. Her mouth slightly parted as she did so.

Shuhua, upon noticing the Chinese girls' face, she peeked over her shoulder and held back a smile. A moment later, Shuhua couldn't hold back her snicker anymore. Her members looked at her in confusion, small smiles on their faces.

Soyeon smiled as she looked at their youngest member curiously, "What? Why are you laughing?"

Shuhua smirked and shrugged her shoulders, "Nothing. Just Yuqi-unnie."

Yuqi turned around quickly, offended, "Why me?" She playfully nudged her arm, causing the younger girl to almost fall off the couch.

Shuhua kept laughing even though she and her food almost went bye-bye, "The unknown number in her phone." She composed herself, "It was Haojing-ssi."

Minnie laughed loudly, "Woogi-ah, did you give her your number earlier?" Yuqi looked at her members who teased her and blushed slightly.

Yuqi flung her hands in the air in defence, "Listen, we used to be friends when we were in middle school and high school, okay?" She looked at the five girls who just stared at her boredly.

Miyeon sat up in her seat with a cheerful smile, "Tell us a story." Minnie nodded eagerly as the other three just stared at her, waiting for her to tell them one.

Yuqi sighed with a small smile and just told them about the time when they were practicing for their auditions. As the girl talked, it was evident, in the way she talked and looked, that she missed those times and memories. Well, perhaps more specifically the raven-haired girl that came with them.

Soojin spoke eventually but quietly, "What did Haojing-ssi send you that made Shushu laugh, Yuqi-ah?" She smirked at the girl, along with her other members.

"It was a cute selfie of Haojing-ssi." Shuhua smiled mischieviously, proud of herself for telling on the short-haired girl. The members started giggling and the teasing was never-ending.

When the members decided to go to sleep, it was about eleven pm. Yuqi was the only one awake and was scrolling on her phone. Her phone buzzed quietly, a notification popping up on the top of her screen; "(imhao.haoareyou) liked your post."

She clicked on the notification and it took her to the her most recent post that she had uploaded earlier today at Music Bank. She clicks onto Haojing's username and it brings her to her profile. Apparently she had also just followed her, so she follows her back.

A smile is set on her face as she scrolls through her page. The most recent post is Haojing and her members at Music Bank in their stage costumes and makeup. She likes the post and decides to call it a day, heading to sleep.

The next morning, well, more like afternoon, (G)I-DLE wakes up, stretching their sore limbs from sleeping on the couch — except for Miyeon, Soojin and Shuhua, of course, who slept in their own beds.

Their schedule today was to go on another music show for their "Hwaa" promotions. Although the girls were exhausted, performing on stage was fun and exciting nonetheless.

Aa the day goes by, the music show passes quickly and (G)I-DLE heads back to their respective dorms. Later at night, Yuqi scrolls on her phone, through instagram, absent-mindedly. Until she gets a call.

"(Ah-Jing) (Answer/Decline)" Popped up on her phone screen, her ringtone echoeing through her bedroom walls. Startled, Yuqi throws her phone against the pillows that lay on her bed.

What do i do? Why is Haojing calling me? Not only is it just a call, but a facetime! Maybe it was a mistake, yeah, a mistake. Perhaps i should answer it anyway...?

Fuck it. She answers the facetime, her puppy-like face popping up on the screen. On the other side, large pixels can be seen moving about, the lagginess evident in both the camera and speakers.

A few moments later as the camera came into focus, aswell as the speakers, Haojing smiled at the screen. She set her phone down on what seemed like a kitchen counter. "Yuqi-ah! Hi!" She waved excitedly.

Yuqi smiled at the girl as she thought she was cute and waved back, "Hi, Ah-Jing." There was a second of silence before Yuqi decided to ask if there was something she needed, "Is there a reason you facetimed me, or are you just hoping to waste time?" Yuqi asked with a small smile on her face.

Haojing's chuckle lagged through the phone, the signal still getting used to the sudden call, "Well, i was hoping to talk to you a little bit, but i do have a question."

Yuqi's eyebrow raised as she lay on her bed in a more comfortable position, resting on her elbows as she lay on her stomach. "I see. I don't have anything better to do at the moment, so i don't mind. What's your question?"

Haojing looked at Yuqi through the screen quietly before smiling and chuckling shyly. "Well, i was hoping that whenever your promotions for "Hwaa" were over, and you were perhaps free, that we could meet up and properly go out somewhere together." She explains as she smiles nervously, "Would you like to, Yuqi-ah?"

Yuqi's heart swells at how cute Haojing has become. Has she always been this cute? She did mention that she had gotten less strict. Maybe that side of her as a teenager just overshined her cuteness. She chuckles and nods her head, "Sounds like a plan, Ah-Jing. Do you have any ideas?"

The duo sat in their dorms and discussed about what they could do when they meet up. They had multiple ideas, but lots would get them recognised and possibly bombarded by local fans. They decided that it was a good idea to do something somewhere secluded. And not to mention that although the Covid-19 restrictions have been lessened, they don't want to chance anything.

"Okay, so, xxxxxx park?" Yuqi asked for a definite amswer and Haojing nodded. "I bring something to do and you bring something to do, right? Don't be boring, Ah-Jing!" Yuqi sang with a teasing smile as Haojing exclaimed in annoyance behind the screen.

It was practically a date. A friendly one, of course.
