Chapter 10

When vanny got back to her dads no one was downstairs so she decided to look for everybody. She went upstairs and went into the room that she and Clara were sharing. "Hey Ballerina!" She said as she went and sat next to Clara who was laying on her stomach watching YouTube on her tablet. "Hi Vanny." Clara replied and paused her video. "Where's dad?" Vanny asked. "I don't know...I woke up and hour ago." Claras stomach grumbled right after she said it. "Let's get you some lunch." Vanny said and then picked up Clara and walked downstairs. As soon as they arrived at the bottom of the stairs, they heard a women's voice they immediately thought it was their mom, so they ran into the kitchen, but it wasn't their mom. It was their dad's girlfriend also known as their dad's boss. Vanny glared at her already knowing that she wasn't gonna like this girl very much and then she said. "Where's our dad.?" The woman turned around and had the fakest smile on her face. "Oh you must be Vanny! oh, your dad was right you are just so beautiful!" Shes screeched all this in the most annoying voice ever. she sounded like a chipmunk who was fighting over an acorn with another chipmunk. (yes I know, very specific..) then she turned to Clara. "And you! You must be the famous Clara....Ricky talks about you all the time!" Then she pinched Clara's cheek. Clara didn't like being pinched so she side eyed her and then pinched the woman's arm. Vanny laughed a little and then stopped when the woman looked at her."sorry Clara just doesn't like being touched." Vanny said and then sat Clara down. "So you didn't answer my question...where's our dad?" Vanny asked right when the woman turned around to go back to whatever she was doing in the kitchen. "Oh, he's at work. He should be home in time for our family dinner!" She said in a little cheery voice that Vanny wasn't falling for. "Oh...sorry I have plans." Vanny said. "You can't miss FAMILY dinner." The woman said in a much different voice then she had been using. In fact she kinda yelled. "WE are NOT a family." Vanny yelled back. The woman's face changed and then she immediately whispered. "Okay..." and now Vanny could see why her father had chosen this woman to be his new partner in life and it wasn't because she was pretty or nice, it was because she could easily be controlled. "I'm gonna go..." Vanny said quietly and then walked out the door. As soon as she was out the door she saw her dad's car pulling In. he parked the car and got out then he saw Vanny standing on the sidewalk. He walked up to her. "Hey honey." He said before putting his arm around her. Vanny glared at him when he did this and then said. "Hi..." "did u meet Veronica ?" He asked after walking down the sidewalk a little more. "Yeah...she's a peach." Vanny said sarcastically. "Yeah I know, isn't she great?" He said not detecting the sarcasm. "Sure..." vanny said once again being sarcastic. Once they got inside veronica ran up to Ricky and hugged him. "How was work darling?" She said, back to her little
Chipmuck voice. "It was okay..." he said and sat his stuff by the door then he leaned over and kissed Veronica. Vanny rolled her eyes because she had seen it all before... he used his charm and his money to make her mom think that she was loved by him but the momment her mom rebelled against anything he said. He would take all the "love" away. And that made it to where he was ALWAYS in control. "I'm gonna go now..." vanny said as she grabbed her phone off the counter. "No your not, your staying for dinner." Her dad said sternly. "I already made plans...sorry." Vanny said and then opened the door. "Vanny YOU ARE STAYING HERE!" he yelled and grabbed her shoulders. "Let go." She said and tried to nudge her way out of his grip. "I am your father. And I tell you what you do and don't do. So when I say you're staying here...YOU ARE STAYING HERE." he yelled and Veronica stepped back. Vanny wasn't gonna let him win. She is a fighter, she's always been a fighter and she always will be. "wanna try asking nicely?" Vanny said with her snarky attitude as she turned around."I don't need to ask nicely I'm your dad you live under my roof and MY RULES." He screamed into her face. "I don't live here!" Vanny said then started to walk out the door. Her dad grabbed her and pushed her down on to the concrete outside. "I SAID...YOU ARE STAYING HERE." he yelled. Vanny felt pain rushing through her body and all the air was out of her lungs but she wasn't gonna give up, not now. "So do we agree?" Her dad said standing over her. "No" she mumbled. "what did you say!?" He screamed. "I said....NO!" she yelled back  through gritted teeth as she got up and then Punched him right in the gut. Then before she knew what happend, he hit her back MUCH harder...right in her face. Then everything was black.
