The Darker Side of Life

Some Time Alone

Ella's POV

     "So, Lu," I started, looking at the Wolfdog. He finished up his Double Quarter Pounder. He cleaned his face off and looked at me. "Why did you want to move trucks?"

     "I just wanted to have some alone time with you." Lucifer replied, sitting across from me. We never got any time to ourselves since Lu was always fighting, and I was taking care of Zero.

     "Good idea." I spoke, relaxing my body. He walked over to me and started massaging my back. It was really nice. "Right there. Oh my..."

     "I wanted to give this to you since the pups left the Foundation."

     "Hey! Maybe we could video call!"

     "Sure. I'll text Chase and ask."

     "You're the best!" I exclaimed, feeling the massage on my back. BANG!

     "What's going on!?" He commanded into a radio. He jumped to the front seat and jumped out of the window. I also went to the front seat. Lucifer was manning an anti-aircraft gun. He was shooting at an oncoming jet. Kuray and Naru showed up to fight. I jumped off and summoned Abyssal Storm. 

     I jumped from truck to truck, destroying oncoming missiles with my blade. I went to Lu's AA gun. He hit the fighter jet, and it came down. We went to a truck that was carrying a helicopter. Lucifer turned it on, and we were in the air. I tried using a gun, but it was useless. I let Lu do all of the fighting. 

     We were then in the air. Lu had turned on autopilot for us. I snuggled up to him. Naru and Kuray chased each other in the sky. I think they like each other. 

     "Hey Lu, how do I know how to use Abyssal Storm?"

     "That's what happens when you gain a familiar."

     "Oh."

     "So... Wanna cuddle?"

     "Not right now. We could call the pups."

     "No service."

     "Dang."

     "Besides, we finally heve a break from them."

     "Good point."

     Lucifer pulled out a journal and paper, and starting writing. I tried to read over his shoulder, but he would not let me. He then handed me a pink journal, and I decided to log my day:

    August 1, 2023

    So. I am Ella. You are my journal. I have been with Lu for about 5 months now. He is really cool. I like the way he is cool. He is also a great snuggle buddy. I have wondered what he thinks about on a day-to-day basis. He also meditates. He-

     "Oh. My. Dog." Lucifer spat out. I looked up and say a black cloud over Adventure City. It was nightmarish. A typhoon surrounded Humdinger Heights. Red lightning shot from the clouds. There was no way we could get in.

     "What's happening!?" I asked him, scared and confused.

     "The Prophet is behind it. This power is that of his."

     "What are we going to do!?"

     "Get in there and end the Prophet's reign of terror." 

Marshall's POV

     "Everest!" I called into my puptag when the storm hit. I was working out when it happened. I had a Famas clutched to my new pup-pack. It had arms for shooting. I never want to use it, but I will.

     "Marshall!" Eve called back, thunder rolling in the distance. "I'm at the hideout with Liberty."

     "Where's Arya?" I asked, fear in every word.

     "She's with Tuck."

     "Thank goodness! I'll see you there."

     The hideout was a place under an abandoned bridge we hung out at. Arch-Angel had flown me to it. He left to go fight whoever caused this. I entered and embraced my girlfriend. We separated and I called Lucifer.

     Weeks passed and there was no sign of anyone. The lighting was deadly. If you got hit by it, you would turn to stone. Then you would turn evil. I know because the rest of the PAW Patrol was hit by it. Finding food was hard, especially since the lightning struck more frequently. 

     "We're dead! There is no way we're living after this!" Liberty panicked, breathing hard. I went to comfort her when Lucifer called! He told me to use a Light Bolt to break the storm.

     I went outside and got into position. I charged the bolt and fired. I saw a helicopter fly in. It was hit by the lightning. Four people jumped out. Two vanished. The others had to be Lucifer and Ella!

     "Lucifer!" I called out, running to him. He landed with Ella. He had been reflecting the bolts. I showed them the hideout, and Liberty was shocked at his arrival.

     "W-w-wolf!" She screamed, hiding behind Eve.

     "That's my brother." The Husky replied, moving away from her.

     "Lads, here's the plan!" The Wolfdog commanded, having us pay attention. "Everest, Marshall, Ella, you three will find any survivors. Dachshund, we will infiltrate the tower and kill the Prophet."

     "We're doing this!?" Liberty asked, terrified. Lucifer was ready to take back Adventure City, and I was ready to take back my family, the PAW Patrol.
