The leader continued to speak while rubbing his face.

"Come back, Eri. And bring her with you. How many times do I have to tell you? It's your fault. You break people. That's just how you were born."

"Go. Hurry!" Eri said, trying to push me back.

"Don't listen to him."

"He's wrong, Eri. That's not true at all."

"You know how this goes. I always have to get my hands dirty, because of your selfishness. Every action you take results in people dying. You're a cursed human."

This fucking asshole.

Eri started to whimper and shake in my arms.

"How could you ever say that to your own daughter?" Togata yelled.

Oh, they don't know.

"Huh? Oh, right. That's the story I told you. I don't have any children." He said, bending down and taking off one glove.

Suddenly, the ground started to break and spikes came towards us.

I quickly used air to lift us up before it could touch us.

"You guys could've been hurt. But he did care." Togata said, as I sent us back down, away from the spikes.

"Yeah, it wouldn't have been a big deal if they got hurt." The ground went back to the way it was.

"If I put them back together immediately, I can revive them. Even if they're not quite the way they were before. Eri already knows what I can do." He said before sending spikes to us again.

But this time, it looked like he wanted to trap us.

"What'll you do if they get injured? Under these conditions, I'm the only one who can heal them. I've sealed off your escape. And you won't be able to run away using Permeation while holding them. So. You're going to fight me, Schoolboy?"

Then, another guy in a white coat and bird mask sat up and held a gun at us.

Then, the spikes in front of us were gone.

He made a path so the bullet can hit Togata. Shit.

"Sorry 'bout this." He said, as he wrapped his cape around us and covered us.

Then the bullets flew but didn't hurt him. Just made holes in the cape.

We fell to the floor and I realized Togata did have his arms around me anymore.

I held onto Eri tighter when I realized what Togata was doing.

"Kurono!" We heard the leader yell.

He must've figured it out.

"Sorry, Overhaul!" Kurono yelled.

I took the cape off our heads and saw that Togata was about to punch Overhaul.

"Of course you would do that! Monster!" Togata yelled as he managed to punch him in the face.
