~🌹Elora🌹~
By lunch time, my Debby downer mood had unimaginably improved which quite honestly surprised me.
I'd been chatting away with Zarah, our voices barely above a whisper since we were still in the biology lab as at that particular time.
Now that we were out of the lab and had free will of how loud our voices could be, somehow the topic of conversation had drifted from flying octopuses and talking trees to a topic I seemed to have no control over, Xavier.
Zarah wiggled her eyebrows saying "come on let's hear it" and it took more than a little effort to stop myself from laughing at her playful antics, choosing to play dumb instead.
"Hear what?" I asked raising an eyebrow to add to the obliviousness I was aiming for.
"Don't even start. Let's hear the juicy deets" she said and even if I wanted to, I couldn't stop my self from laughing.
"Deets? Really?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Don't knock it till you try it. And don't you dare try to change the topic. Spill." She said, narrowing her eyes into a playful glare.
I paused, my mind contemplating if I really wanted to share something which was somewhat personal with someone I'd known barely a little over two or three days.
"Well it's nothing really..." I found myself saying barely over a few seconds after the earlier thought had crossed my mind which surprised me but I wasn't ready to give my mind the time or chance to second guess making Zarah a friend, something I knew I was severely lacking.
She nodded to indicate I had her listening ears and and I continued talking. "I bumped into him while stepping out out of the chemistry lab."
"Hmm" she seemed to think, humming in approval before saying "cliché but romantic" which abruptly stopped by steps.
She kept walking but didn't go too far before she realized I wasn't following. She back tracked stopping right in front of me.
My eyes did triple takes around my surroundings to make sure no one was listening in on our conversation before I said "where did that come from?" my voice barely above a whisper.
She did the one thing I'd learnt to expect from her. She rolled her eyes before saying "it came from the intense starting competition you were having with him through out biology class and the wink he gave you before entering the lab."
I groaned at her words. "You saw that?" I asked, for some reason feeling embarrassed.
Again, she rolled her eyes. "The whole hallway saw it" she said and my eyes widened.
I'd stood for a while, no doubt earning us a few weird stares before she grabbed my wrist pulling me behind her and walking into the cafeteria.
We grabbed our food, settling on a random table before I asked "you didn't actually mean it when you said the whole hallway right?"
I expected another eye roll since I'd already established it was something she was fond of doing but instead she pegged me a deadpanned expression.
"I'm switching schools" I said like I'd finally made some important decision and she laughed.
"Unless you want to let go of a sweet little angelic soul like me and the romance brewing between you and Xavier, you obviously can't switch schools." She said.
"First I unfortunately bump into that rude self absorbed idiot named Azariah and frickin get called to the principal's office, earning detention on my first day, next I bump into Xavier ultimately making a fool of myself in front of him and apparently the entire hallway saw the same person wink at me." I said and she chuckled at my plight.
