"I'm almost done, I swear!" Valentino laughs in front of me.
He's 'illustrating' my breakfast, and right now, the pancake is burnt and crispy.
"I dont think that's edible..." I laugh as nicely as possible.
"Okay, maybe we should just go and buy some cereals." He says.
He looks at me with a frown.
"What's on your mind?"
It's time.
"Why didn't you tell me Romano was your brother? I mean, it was pretty obvious."
Our eyes lock together. he's not looking at the food or the counter anymore.
It feels as if he's throwing a million daggers at me.
"I didn't want you to think I didn't try to help you." He speaks as he lets out a sigh.
"Tell me you looked for me." I say
"Of course I did."
a familiar feeling of doubt hits me... is he lying?
"Did you? Tell me the real reason why you didn't tell me."
"I was - am making him disappear." And for the first time, I see his eyes water a little.
The first time, he has shown actual emotion aside, laughing and smiling.
His eyes dont cry, though.
"What do you mean... disappear?"
"I'm erasing every trace of him."
"No... why? Are you doing this for me?"
"He kidnapped my wife. Of course, I'm erasing him." He says it like a normal action.
"Okay. It's okay. You don't need to erase him or whatever ."
"It's too late, baby."
"We need to go to the store anyways," he adds.
"I just need to put on an actual shirt and some bottoms."
"Yeah."
I head upstairs first and go to our closet and grab a comfy shirt with some sweatpants.
The shirt is tight on my waist, but somehow, it's still comfy.
Valentino walks in the walk-in wardrobe and picks up a black shirt and also some grey sweatpants.

"Baby, can we also get some steak?"
"Why steak?"
"We are getting a dog, by the way.."
He turns towards me and makes a complete stop.
"A dog?" He asks
"A dog! It's time to get my baby back!" I squeal, Valentino on the other hand looks fucking gobblesmacked.
"A dog."
"Yep come on!" I say when he drives into the parking lot and parks in a parent and child spot.
"Valentino you cant park here."
"What will they do? Shoot a mafia boss?"
"Maybe."
We walk inside, our hands inter locked.
I'm glad we talked. It wasn't long, but it helped fix my head.
And... getting my baby back will fix me for life.
MY DOG IS COMING BACK.
