As the morning bell rang, signaling the start of lessons, the courtyard  transformed into a hazardous blur of activity. Students hurried in every direction, their voices blending into a cacophony of dread and chatter, eagered to reach their respective classrooms on time.

Ling Lixue and Xiao Wu were caught in the ocean of students. Their paths intercepted by them as they began to push them further and further away.

Lixue took one last look at the place where he had saved the black haired boy after the earlier confrontation but Tang San was no longer there. He shook his head, focusing himself as he walked briskly beside Xiao Wu.

"We better hurry." Xiao Wu said, her voice carrying urgency."We don’t want to be late for our first class."

Lixue nodded, adjusting his pace to match hers. The corridors of the academy were lined with students, all moving to their assigned classes. He noticed that a few people stared at them, whispering as they passed by but the white haired boy was much too in a hurry to dwell on it.

As they reached their classroom, the pair slipped inside just as the final bell rang. The room was already filled with their peers, all seated and ready for the day’s lessons. All except for four seats.

The walls were paste6with charts and diagrams, illustrating various martial souls and techniques. At the front, the teacher, Master Lu, was preparing his materials, his stern gaze sweeping across the room.

"Take your seats," Master Lu instructed, his voice commanding but not unkind. "We have much to cover today."

Lixue and Xiao Wu quickly found their places, settling into their chairs as the lesson began. Now two seats remained, one by Xiao Wu and the other infront of Lixue.

The two looked at the empty chairs curiously, turning back to each other with questioning gazes. Wu shrugged it off turning her attention back to the the teacher. Lixue gaze lingered for a while more before doing the same.

Master Lu’s lectures were always said to be very thorough. Yu Xiaogang, better known as Grandmaster and Lixue's father had told him a lot about the man. Master Lu was a soul master of the 50th level, he was also the teacher for the second year class 5, the class Lixue was currently in.

Initially Xiao Wu and Ling Lixue were supposed to start off from class 1 just like many of their dorm mates but once their cultivation level were revealed it was clear that that class could do nothing for them and so they were instantly skipped and placed in the next stage class.

Grandmaster had told Lixue and Wu, mostly Wu, that Master Lu was very strict and would not take indiscipline lightly. He was a man of principles and his deep knowledge of martial souls and their applications were once that nearly matched those himself.

"Today, we will be discussing the importance of understanding your opponent’s martial soul in battle. Knowing your enemy’s strengths and weaknesses can be the key to victory."

His father had told him to pay close mind to whatever it was that was being taught by the man, however, Lixue found his attention wavering. His thoughts kept drifting back to the black-haired boy with ocean blue eyes that seemed to just pull him in. He didn't know the boy's name but he did know that there was a mysterious aura that surrounded him. An aura which he was drawn to.

Just as the lesson was fully about to begin, the door to the classroom opened, and someone stepped inside. A person that made Wu's eyes get filled with bloodlust. This person was Ji Chi. His presence immediately drew the attention of everyone in the room. The whispers started almost instantly, curiosity and speculation buzzing in the air. Majority of the class seemed apprehensive and awestruck by the red haired boy, Lixue included while Wu just wanted murder. The white haired boy had to hold his sister's arm as a means to stop her from just jumping the guy and gouging his eyes out.
