If someone would've told me I'd be dating one of the top three volleyball aces in Japan I would've told you you're crazy depending on which one of the three. If you would've told me I'd be dating Ushiijima Wakatoshi I'd tell you your insane, why would i date that dense, aloof, emotionless man? I still can't really answer that.

Ushijima was very intimidating, especially on the court. Seeing someone 6'2 spike a ball really puts in perspective how intimidating people can get. He's quite, really quiet, really clueless too, he's perfect in his own ways though.

You loved Ushiijima, there wasn't really anything not to love. He showed that he cared even if it didn't really seem like it, when we first met I kinda thought he hated me but that's just how his face looks all the time. He's just stoic even if it's very intimidating at times

I'm not too big of a fan of other girls liking my boyfriend but that's really my own fault for dating one of the most popular guys at school.

Being the manager of the Shiratorizawa boys volleyball team was fun though, on the court and during practices you two weren't dating, it was strictly professional, nothing more. He cared a lot about volleyball and you didn't want to interrupt that. Outside of practice you two were free to act however you wanted.

He wasn't too big on pda though, I understand where he's coming from. It's awkward since you two have been dating for quite sometime so suddenly showing big displays of affection out of nowhere just seemed weird

It was morning practice, the guys decided to go on a morning run, they usually do once or twice a week to help build stamina, sometimes you joined them but today wasn't one of those days. You stood outside the gym waiting for the guys to finish as the couches waited inside

It was a bit cold out but you liked how the morning breeze felt sometimes so you were outside enjoying it till you heard footsteps approaching, you knew it was Ushiijima, he usually finished running before anyone, he was just faster

"Bit slower today" you pointed out as you stood there with your hangs in your pockets, the mornings were usually cold and today was no exception

"Hm" he acknowledged my statement as he stood right behind me, my head leaned back to rest again his chest "tendou had to tell me something while we were running"

She raised her hands to her pockets and curled her hands over her mouth and blew hot air into her hands to help warm them up "I think it's colder today than it was yesterday" she put her hands back in her pockets before she looked up at him as he stared off into space

"Didn't check the weather?" It wasn't much of a question if it was obviously true, she decided not to wear leggings under her uniform skirt which added to how obvious it was "I can walk you to your dorm after this"

You smiled a little at his suggestion, he was so sweet sometimes "no it's fine, it'll get hotter later today, thanks though"

"Mhm" he hummed in reply as he took his hands out of his pockets, he was about to do something when he heard someone behind us, he put his hands back in his pockets and turned around to be faced with the rest of the team

You turned around too and walked towards the door of the gym "alright you guys, let's start practice" you opened the gym doors, you helped set up while everyone stretched and waved up

"So you and Ushiijima had a nice conversation this morning?" Tendou asked, why would that be interesting enough to talk about?

"Yah why?" You asked as you turned to look at Tendou. Tendou was one of the only people who really knew you and Ushiijima were dating, everyone could just assume but he 100% knew. Ushijima might've told him, they tell each other everything

"He told me about last week, must've been awkward man, I'm happy you two are talking" Tendou's words confused you until you remember the events of last week, your eyes went wide, Ushijima told him about something completely private, what the hell!

"Yah I think we're over all that, it's highschool what are you gonna do about it" you shrugged "everyone misreads situations sometimes" you played it off like it was nothing, you walked onto the sidelines after while giving ushijima a dirty look. We're not together on the court, we're not together on the court. you said ever and over in your head as you refrained saying anything to Ushiijima

Practice goes on and you take notes on things they need to practice on till everyone walked out of the gym, they started walking towards the mess hall when Ushijima said "imma go take a shower" before he separated from the group while slightly tugging in your jacket as he passed by you, he wanted you to come with him, you knew that but you didn't really want to. This could be a good opportunity to talk to him so a few seconds later you followed behind Ushijima till we made it to his dorm

"So why'd you want me to come with you?" You asked as you sat on his bed

He walked into the bathroom and a few minutes as he was in the shower, you rolled your eyes and walked into the bathroom knowing he was already in the shower and sat on the towel lid "hello?" You said, waiting for a reply

You love that he's silent it leads to really nice moments but this wasn't one of those moments

"Why'd you look at me like that?" He finally replied, he was talking about in the gym during practice

"Tendou told me you told him about what happened last week" you messed with the hem of your skirt, this seemed so stupid saying it out loud, maybe you were just overreacting

"Was I not supposed to?" He sounded genuine, this big idiot. You don't have to tell your friend every little detail about your relationship

"No, I would've preferred no one knowing about what happened, it was kind of embarrassing" you said a bit more quiet, all I could think about was how awkward last week was

"Sorry" he simply replied, he didn't know. You couldn't be mad at him for something he didn't know about

You sighed "no it's ok, I understand that you didn't know not to. I shouldn't be mad, I'm just overreacting" he stayed silent as he finished up his shower, he grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist before he got out of the shower. You looked him up and down before you quickly walked out of the bathroom, you were in his way

"You're so dense sometimes" you sat back on his bed

"Sorry" he replied as he put on a pair of boxers before turning to you, you've seen him like this a few times so it's fine

He walked closer to you "don't apologize, you can't really control how dense you are. I don't really mind half of the time" you wrapped your arms around his neck, you loved looking at him, you knew it sounded cringe but it was true, he was almost perfect to you when it came to looks

"But then there's the other half of the time" he said a bit confused, you leaned up and kissed him

"The other half of the time we work it out, so it doesn't really matter how dense you are if we're just gonna work it out in the end" Ushijima let out a small hum of acknowledgement to what you said before he leaned his head down to kiss you back, he wasn't dense all the time. Right now he understood the situation and knew what to do, you loved him

He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer, he dug his head into the crook of your neck, even if it was a little tight you loved his hugs, you  lowered your hands so your arms were around his back as you leaned your head onto his. He leaned into you a bit more causing you to fall backwards onto his bed. He pulled away and looked at you "sorry" he simply said before you giggled a little

"There's nothing to apologize for" you leaned up a little and kissed him before the sound and the door opening suddenly caught you both off guard
