Hearts' actions in Mythraea had become increasingly bold and conspicuous. No longer content with subtle interventions, he openly guided Max to the druids and facilitated Fish's culinary journey, helping them and the queens of Mythraea forge alliances and maintain peace. These acts of compassion and interference in the mortal world did not sit well with the other angels. They were guardians of divine order and viewed Hearts' behavior as a dangerous deviation.
The celestial realm buzzed with discontent. The angelic council convened frequently, their discussions dominated by Hearts' defiance. His compassion and direct involvement in the mortal realm were seen as threats to the balance they maintained. However, they knew Hearts was powerful, stronger than any individual angel, and a direct confrontation was fraught with peril.
"Hearts undermines our principles," one angel declared, their voice resonating through the grand chamber. "His actions threaten the very fabric of our existence."
Another angel, her eyes filled with righteous fury, added, "We must put an end to this. If he continues unchecked, the balance between our realm and the mortal world will be irreparably damaged."
Unable to confront him directly, they issued stern warnings. Seraphiel, a high-ranking angel known for her unwavering adherence to celestial law, appeared before Hearts one day as he watched over Mythraea.
"Hearts," she intoned, her voice both melodic and severe, "your actions have not gone unnoticed. You tread a dangerous path, one that could lead to severe consequences."
Hearts met her gaze calmly. "My actions are driven by compassion and a desire for peace. The mortals need guidance, and I cannot stand idly by while they suffer."
"Your compassion blinds you," Seraphiel replied. "It is not our place to interfere so directly in their lives. You have been warned. Continue on this path, and you will face the consequences."
Despite the warnings, Hearts remained steadfast. The results of his actions were evident: the kingdoms prospered, the queens grew closer, and peace seemed within reach. He saw the harmony and unity flourishing in Mythraea and felt more determined than ever to continue his mission. His resolve was unshakable.
But the other angels were not willing to let Hearts' defiance go unchallenged. They began to plan in secret, devising ways to ambush or even kill him. Unable to match his strength directly, they sought more subtle methods to undermine him.
The angels turned their attention to the factions within each kingdom that desired war. They strengthened these factions, whispering of purity and hatred in the human kingdom, stoking the fires of vengeance in the demon kingdom, appealing to greed among the goblins, and invoking the honor of past sacrifices in the elven kingdom. By feeding these factions' fears and ambitions, the angels hoped to destabilize the fragile peace that Hearts had worked so hard to foster.
As the angels' interference sowed discord, Hearts continued his mission. He knew that peace was within reach and believed that love and unity would ultimately prevail. Yet, the growing unrest weighed heavily on him. He sensed the malevolent influence behind the rising tensions but could not pinpoint its source.
In their secret council, the angels hatched a plan to banish Hearts. They knew they could not defeat him directly, so they sought to make it appear as if he had sinned. If successful, their scheme would lead to his banishment by divine decree. The plan was intricate and would take years to unfold, but they were patient, confident in their eventual success.
Unbeknownst to them, God was aware of their machinations. He watched over the unfolding drama with a knowing eye, understanding that this was all part of a greater plan. He had greater things in store for Hearts, and the trials he faced were steps toward a higher purpose.
As the angels' plot slowly took shape, Mythraea stood at a crossroads. Peace was tantalizingly close, yet the shadow of Hearts' potential banishment loomed large. The question remained: would peace prevail, or would Hearts fall before his mission was complete? Only time would tell, and the fate of Mythraea hung in the balance.
