*Gally's PoV*

Riley didn't return that night. Suddenly, she vanished.

Alby's condition was improving thanks to the serum Teresa had in her pocket.

Everyone is starting to trust Thomas now, giving him authority to be in the Maze, seeking a way out.

They're all fools. There's no good being out there.

What if things suddenly turn bad? It's all Thomas's fault.

Even when Alby was half-unconscious, he yelled at him, swearing he saw him behind the screen. His somewhat crazy state due to the Griever sting, I don't know why but I can believe him.

I can't keep covering up Riley's sudden disappearance.

At first, I reasoned that she wasn't feeling well, didn't want visitors. But no signs of her being in my shack made Newt suspicious.

I don't know what to say because I don't know where she went.

The only hope I have is that she didn't stupidly go into the Maze. Whatever her reason is.

Riley can fight, that's something we all finally realized. Even though she was shocked by the sight of the Griever back then, I doubt she wouldn't challenge it now.

Riley before the day two and Riley after the day two are different personalities.

The Riley now is more than capable of facing the Griever alone. But I wouldn't bet she won't get hurt. I'm more worried she'll get killed in there.

"So, where is she now?" Newt asks during the Keeper gathering.

I just glance at him briefly before shaking my head in resignation.

"What do you mean you don't know?" Minho jumps in. "Isn't she your responsibility? How could you lose her?"

Being chastised makes me angry, "shut up, shank. I only have two eyes, I can't ensure her whereabouts 24/7. Besides, she vanished after her bath shift. I'm not going near her!"

Frypan adds, "Gally's right. We all know the risks."

Thomas, clueless, then asks, "what risks?"

My frustration grows, "what is he doing here?! He's not even a Keeper!"

"I brought him as my advisor."

"What advice? If there's a way out there? You've been circling that place for two years and found nothing!" I snap impatiently.

Minho rises from his seat, when someone does that in a gathering, it means they're ready to cause trouble. So I stand too.

"Because back then no one dared to fight the Griever! Thomas found something that might be a clue for us to get out!"

Thomas hands the object to Newt, a piece of metal from inside the dead Griever's slimey body.

Newt evaluates it. He'll also believe in Thomas, I can see it.

They're all truly foolish.
