||Chapter 4||
His Squinting Eyes
___________________________________

Leo squirmed in his bed, sighing.

He'd been sick for the past two days and has been stuck in bed, unable to move. This meant he couldn't finish his project.

Not with him around, at least.

"I swear if you sigh one more time you're going to get to know my fist; intimately." Malcolm said with tired aggression.

"Hey," Leo said. "I didn't ask you to take care of me, book worm, you decided this yourself."

Malcolm roles his eyes and squeezed the folded cloth over a bucket. "Don't get too excited, just doing this to return your kind gesture."

Leo's eyebrow went up in question. "You mean me giving you them glasses? No need for a thanks, I already know I'm awesome."

He tried to laugh, but a series of coughs came out instead.

"Calm down there," Malcolm let a smile arise to his face. "Might cough up your intestines."

Leo rolled his eyes while Malcolm put the cold cloth on his forehead, steam letting off the moment it touched it.

Malcom's amused grin fell. "I get your usually pretty warm, but isn't this too hot?"

He felt Leo's neck and immediately regretted it, jerking his hand back.

"We must get you to an actual doctor," Malcolm started to get up but Leo dragged him back down.

"No! No, no...I just get really hot! Y'know, being a foreigner and all," He gave let out a strained smile which did not convince Malcolm, but he sighed.

"The Imperial Prince will be circling around our kingdom again today before he heads back to the castle." Malcolm said, taking the cloth and putting it in water again, changing the topic.

"I thought he already went around yesterday?" Leo inquired, feeling a slight headache pierce through.

"Correct, But he needs to circle back to make it to the heart of the Empire." Malcolm squeezed the water out then placed it on his forehead.

"Oooh, should we attend this time?" Leo asked, and Malcolm replied by hitting him on the shoulder.

"You can't even stand without getting dizzy, you are in no condition to be attending that!"

"But Mallyyy," Leo whined. "I want to test something!"

"And that 'thing' involves the viewing of the prince?" Malcom quirked an eyebrow.

"Yup." Leo stated simply with a nervous smile. "I promise to stray away from crowds and leave the moment I feel bad."

Malcolm glared at him for a moment. "The immediate second you feel bad."

"Promise." Leo gave his signature grin and held out his pinky.

"What are you, a child?" Malcom rolled his eyes. "I will not be attending because I still need to run shop, though one of the Stoll's said he would help."
