The PE teacher divided all the students into teams of six players each. The first match was between Jisoo and Taehyung.
Jisoo's team included Jennie, Yoongi, Suho, Jin, and Lisa, while Taehyung's team included Jimin, Namjoon, Jungkook, Rose, and Irene.
The PE teacher explained the rules: each game consists of one set, and eliminating all the players of the other team wins. However, if it exceeds the time limit of 3-5 minutes, it'll be a dead game, and the winning team will be decided by points. Six balls will be placed on the center line, aka the hard line; each team gets three balls to start the game.
After the briefing, everybody took their places around the court according to their agreed-upon strategy.
The PE teacher shouted, "1, 2, Dodgeball," and whistled.
Suho and Lisa quickly secured their team's three balls, while Jungkook and Namjoon did the same for Taehyung's team. Both teams began by trying to bait throws from the other side, with their best dodgers—Jimin, Irene, Jennie, and Yoongi—in the front. Behind them, Jisoo, Jin, Taehyung, and Rose prepared to make powerful throws, while Suho, Lisa, Jungkook, and Namjoon provided support and occasionally threw balls themselves.
As the game progressed with intense energy and strategic plays, the gymnasium was filled with shouts and the sound of dodgeballs hitting the ground.
Jisoo's team managed to eliminate Jimin, who tried to jump but Jin was aiming just for that.
However, the celebration was short-lived as Taehyung targeted Jennie. She tried to catch the ball but misjudged its speed, and the ball slipped through her fingers, resulting in her elimination. Taehyung smirked and high-fived Jungkook, who cheered loudly.
Yoongi and Lisa coordinated their throws to target Namjoon, successfully eliminating him. However, a plus point was getting more balls, while Rose tried to eliminate Jisoo, who caught the ball. Taehyung quickly whispered something in Jungkook's ear, who then targeted Jin, hitting his foot.
Suho attempted to eliminate Taehyung, who caught the ball, earning one point.
The time was up, and the match ended in a tie. Some said the team with more players won, while others said points were more important.
Both teams surrounded the PE teacher, who was trying to appease all the students. Just then, Taehyung spoke, "How about the two captains settle this match?" and smiled boyishly at Jisoo.
"What do you say?" He bent a little to her eye level, "Captain." The way he said that didn't sound pleasant even though he was smiling.
Jisoo took a step closer as Taehyung straightened up. "Sounds good to me," she also smiled and crossed her arms over her chest, matching his stare.
He looked at her, breaking into a smile again, and turned to face the PE teacher. "What do you say, coach?"
The teacher just shook his head, 'Youngblood,' he thought.
