AMELIA.

WTF?

Words I would gladly utter if not this goddamn impairment.

"I...I...No.." God! I need to get out of here, it's bad enough I was to be a burial ornament to accompany the dead, now am suppose to be a miracle doctor? Or is it a Necromancer?

"Wait hold on I think you have gotten it wrong, what I mean is I think there is a connection....ah hold on, can you please seat down so we talk?"

I didn't even realize I was up from my seat till he said it. With a deep breath I slowly sat and looked at the Monarch who was equally staring at me, waiting for me to give an explanation, seeing as this won't go anywhere with the limited communication we had going, picking up my phone I typed as fast as I could.

"What exactly happened four years ago?"

Taking the phone I extended to him, he frowned as he read what I had written in it.

" I guess this is a better and faster way of communicating why didn't I think of this before" sighing he gave me back the phone and gulped the wine in his glass.

"Ok four years ago I was not a citizen of Earth...." Frowning he reached for the phone I was already stretching back to him.

"What do you mean you were not a citizen of Earth, are you an alien then? "

"Ok if you will just let me finish without you interrupting then we will get to the root of this issue, can you do that?"

As I nodded he sighed and stood up as he began his narration.

MASON.

Recalling events that were traumatic, itself is traumatizing, but if
given the choice right now, I will say I have no choice. With a
straight face I narrated how I was betrayed by my wife and best
friend I considered a brother as if it wasn't cliche enough I
transmigrated to another universe, another cliche the woman
who happened to be chosen was the doppelganger of my
treacherous ex, saying it out loud makes me feel my life is a made up fictional novel or movie.

"The only thing  I can remember is that  at the moment I died I saw a Galaxy shaped locket glowing.....and your face, of cause at that moment I thought it was...well you know my wife"

seeing how pale she looked with her hand clutching her neck , one would think she was really guilty of something.

" Amy are you okay, we can stop if you are tired or uncomfortable"

"Is this the locket you saw?"

As I read the message she had written and pass to me, I saw her fidget with her neck scarf, opening it  and just wrapped around her brown slender neck was the locket, the last image that glowed brightly before I woke up in another universe.

"Y...yes, Amelia I think this is the key, I think this has all the answers we are looking for, can I see it?"

Looking at her one would think it was even impossible for such brown skin to become such pale color.

"I ....I c..can...can't t..take o...off"

Okay this was not making any sense, unless there was  some kind of  magical bind that is connecting her life to that neck lace , I don't see the big sentiment she was having for such an old worn out, unique I must say though, but still old and out of Fashion neck lace.

"I promise I will return it, I will be careful just want to see if there's anything we are missing "

Seeing her hesitation, I was already about to tell her to forget the whole thing when she shakingly unclasped the locket and handed it to me.

Wait...why does she seem different all of a sudden like...

"Hello Mason, it seems we can't seem to get rid of each other"

Amanda!.
