AMELIA

Looking around, my surrounding was almost blinding as nothing could be seen at first. But as my eyes began to adjust I noticed things like grey blurring shadows floating about, but none I noticed was coming close to where I was standing with the Pandit.   To my amazement I notice he was covered in a faint glow like a membrane and it seems this was repelling those grey floating orbs.

"Do you know where we are child?"

He asked in that quiet but clear voice, that never fails to soothe.

"My consciousness?"

I have watched enough movies and animes to know when you are transported into an empty white space its either your mind, heaven or hell. No fire, so hell is ruled out, would say heaven but those grey orbs looked way too scary to be in heaven, so I would go with my mind as its the only place filled with horror and chaos right now.

With a gentle smile the Pandit started walking slowly and I walk behind him with the same slow pace.

" No child, this is the space between human and the spirit world, like a bridge that connects both"

"Oh"

"And yes its also your consciousness"

Okay like I said, I knew it was my mind.... wait my mind is the bridge between the human world and the spirit world? doesn't that makes me the protagonist if this were to be a movie or an anime? No that wasn't the most important question to ask......

" How is it possible? how can I  possibly survive....."

Before I could continue with my series of questioning, we heard a screeching sound and then saw a black pulsing thing and with each pulse, more screeching were heard from the orbs floating around and those things seem agitated for some unknown reason. Out of curiosity I stepped ahead of the Pandit to take a closer look at the pulsing thing, but I was pulled back by the pandit who immediately started citing a chant and the next instance we were out of that space and back to the temple.

"Amy? are you alright?"

Immediately I hear his voice a flood of emotions overwhelmed me that I flung myself into his arm holding him so tight that if he were smaller he would have suffocated.

"what the hell happened!!!?"

Immediately Mason shouted, the pandit looked at him, with a little frown that was barely noticed.

" Am sorry for how I spoke, forgive me, but is Amelia going to be okay? is everything going be alright now?"

"Things are much more complicated than anticipated, come with me"

Seeing how Mason was still holding me tightly, the pandit sighed and walked ahead of them slowly into another room located behind.

"Baby can you move?"

Hearing him call me that, literally made me feel and act spoiled  making my legs become like jelly.

"I...I don't think so"

with a lift at the corner of his lips he carried me bridal style as we followed the pandit behind who was already seated in the inner room with legs folded and eyes closed.

"Seat down, here drink this child, and get some rest"

The Pandit stretched out his hand towards me with a little cup containing an unknown milky substance, before I could collect the cup, Mason collected it and proceeded to give it to me.

"It's alright I've got you"

As he whispered into my ears, I finally understand what it means to rely on another human.
